Honest question, why buy a standalone GPS these days when you can use Gaia with Apple CarPlay or android auto?
Well I have Garmins because I've only had a smart phone for the last couple months. Carried a filp and still would if they made a good flip, but with 3G gone next month I didn't have a choice.
I would strongly recommend you do some research into the Gaia app. You make a blanket payment, or affordable monthly subscription, and can get access to pretty much any map you could possibly want.
The entire service is cloud-based, so you access your portal via their webpage and can create tracks, download tracks, do whatever you need to do.
What’s better is this will all tie into your super modern smart head unit, and it’s all there easy squeezy.
