FORDPASS Connectivity issue 23MY

Picked up OB1 on 1/13/23 and everything connected up just fine with sync and FordPass. As of 1/25 I lost connectivity with the app, so spent the afternoon today troubleshooting, removing from app, resetting sync… to no avail.

Finally called and spoke with a FordPass guide on the phone tonight and was told they are struggling with connectivity with 23 Broncos and F150’s…

Expected fix sometime in February and will be able to re-activate my Bronco in FordPass…

In case anyone else is having issues, or found a fix I missed! :)

Same boat. Quick fix that hasn’t proven to be permanent but worked for me is to disconnect the negative terminal on the battery for 10-15 minutes. Leave the vehicle alone (I was a stupid and open the driver door and then had to reset my window - long story). Once you reconnect the battery it should show the modem has reestablished its connection with Ford (weather shows in Nav, up down arrows in top right of screen are back etc). Then you can go to connectivity setting and get back to working.

Granted others have done this and have to re-do this. Yes it’s affecting other Fords. Other models have been able to reset by pulling the modem fuse. That didn’t work for me but the battery trick did. Hoping for a more permanent/better fix.

Can't connect to my '21 to remote start. Cold here. Really nice to have when I leave work at midnight with a 3/4 warmed up vehicle. Maybe they need to undo the latest update, and reconfigure for the unintended consequences. Reported on the other site as well. Engineering SNAFU, sort of like trying to improve a simple, reliable, mechanical light switch that has to be replaced for "logic failure" because they turned it over to engineers to "improve" I am being nice here, please don't ask me how I really feel since I like hanging out here and I'd be banned. Suffice to say that if I had to choose a word for it, that word would be LIVID. If it ain't broke turn it over to the engineers to "fix" it...

First I noticed I couldn’t see the weather in bac, then realized in the app it hadn’t connected for four days…

Crap! Well I dropped mine off to the dealership and it updated while there. I hope everything works as it should when I pick it back up. It seems I only get updates when it is at the dealership. Must be a setting I need to change. No list of what they updated just small changes here and there. Well change it back because it was fine before 😬

Going to try @Dr Detroit ‘s fix here once the sun comes up…. Fingers crossed.

I made an assumption you know your way around a car battery but just in case:
10mm socket to the black terminal lead. Only need to loosen it not completely undo it. Should lift off. Don’t freak out about a few sparks. Move it high off the battery and make sure it stays there for the next 15 minutes and doesn’t drop back down onto the battery.

Now to avoid my stupid mistake. Make sure the car doors are shut and don’t mess with them until the battery is reconnected and secure. I had the door open to start and then closed before I put the battery on. It knocked out the calibration for the window to go down a bit and back up on open and close. Did the reset process for the window to fix that.

Don’t want to be insulting with my post if you’re used to working on a car but figured the steps could also help someone who isn’t all that comfortable.

I appreciate the heads up…. Many many years ago I taught shop and this stuff was old hat…. I had to replace a battery (12v) in my 2020 escape hybrid last month… UNDER THE SPARE IN THE TRUNK…

one of the benefits of these forums is learning for each other!

I removed the CLIMATE CONTROL/GATEWAY MODULE FUSE(#12 INTERIOR FUSE BOX under steering wheel) and then plugged it back in…. I also did a resetin settings on the sync… this worked for me and a bunch of people over at 6G. Hasn’t been a problem since. Try it.

This has definitely been an intermittent issue with mine. Last night it quit working again (after working with no issues for a couple of weeks), this morning it is working. Hopefully they can figure out the issue and stabilize it.

What do u mean a reset in the sync setting.
Follow me here.. give me wrench I'm good... give me a 12 inch screen with nasa like controls, I'm screwed...lol.

FordPass Activated the vehicle much faster than when I first brought it home, so hopefully I’m done for awhile…

I have weather, traffic (I think, I haven’t gone anywhere yet), updown arrows in menu bar confirming communication, and my FordPass will lock, unlock, and start the vehicle (after. Logged out and logged back in).

Life is VERY good (its the little things)

I have been having the same issues for almost 3 weeks now.
I would be fine for a week or so then the FordPass app won’t remotely start my Bronco and can not locate where the Bronco is, basically nothing in the app is working.
I had just a couple of times where it didn’t work but a day or two later it was fine, all last week not one problem, now this week hasn’t worked once.
It is getting a little frustrating but I’m getting by with the key fob in starting it in the mornings and when I go home.

That quick fix, whether it be permanent or temporary... This info needs to be pinned somewhere. For people to try, til ford actually fixes it!!!
