Complete misunderstanding. Apologies all.

I have removed my previous post. I had accused my dealership of marking up my Bronco $4,500.00. This was absolutely not the case. I was completely wrong and have made a follow up posting hopefully at least partially remedying the situation.

If you have it in writing, I’d ask them to remove the ADM or talk with your lawyer.

Hello all. Attached is the email I received from my dealership when I switch my order to their store specifically for no mark up. When I went to pick up the Bronco all of a sudden there is a 4.5k mark up.

since I have it in writing that they wouldn’t mark up the Bronco is it possible to be refunded this 4.5k mark up?

Currently waiting on a response from the dealership(Ford Store Morgan Hill) But wanted to see if anyone else has dealt with this and found a solution?
Is that Ford Store in CA ?

I'd definitely try to work it out with the dealer first. Show them the email and let them know you reserved with them specifically because they advertised no mark-up. If they are a reputable business they'll honor their advertising commitments. If that doesn't work, contact Ford customer service, file a complaint, explain to them the email, and see if they are able to work it out. If that doesn't work... contact Mike Levine (@mrlevine) on Twitter and explain to him the situation. He has been known to help people out to the best of his ability.

Be sure to stay calm and respectful throughout the process... if things get heated it usually doesn't end well for you.

If none of that works... you have a decisions to make:
  1. If you and your dealer signed a purchase agreement or a buyer's order for your Bronco, you can contact lawyer and see what they can do. If you do not... a lawyer won't really be able to help.
  2. Buy the Bronco anyway with the markup.
  3. Walk away and order with a new dealer.
  4. Go into scorched-earth mode, post your story on the Bronco6G forums and they will help you put public social media pressure on the dealer. Doing this is basically a last resort, so I HIGHLY recommend doing this only if nothing else works. Also keep in mind that this approach can get very out of hand in a hurry... in the past it has resulted in some extremely nasty threats against dealers. I can be very effective, but it's also like a bit like playing with molten-hot magma.

The only way you can guarantee no ADM's from your dealership is by getting a signed, by both parties, Purchase Agreement! No Purchase Agreement, no guarantee!

In this case, Broncosaurus may have some recourse, by showing the e-mail to the GM, but nothing is signed. I wish you the best of luck. Let us know how it goes. Ragnarkon offers some good advice, follow it and my fingers are crossed for you.

I have filed a couple in past with good results, No business wants it on their record. It is a tactic that sometimes works. If you do not do anything they will keep screwing customers. It is like a pot hole, everyone complains but no one calls the State or County for the complaint of the pot hole to get fixed.

Good Grief Charlie Brown…..here we go again. Trevor (I assume the OP’s name is Trevor) has an actual letter/email to him, from Kenneth Klamm at the dealership, saying in plain english that they will never add a dealer mark-up to their vehicles, to include the “Bronco” that he’s specifically reserving. If that isn’t good enough to hold that dealership accountable, then I honestly don’t know what is. If not, then I reckon the future of car buying will require the customer showing up at the dealership with a lawyer on retainer, a witness, a videographer, a signature expert, a notary public, oh….and the magical signed (by both parties) purchase agreement and full spit in the palm handshake.

The BBB only can report on members, if a business is not a member of the BBB they can't report anything. The BBB is impotent.

The BBB is nothing more than a pay-to-play marketing company with zero powers. Social media and online reviews are way more powerful then the 1980's BBB

Trevor, I am the General Manager of The Ford Store Morgan Hill. Please contact me at 408-782-8202. I don't know who you have spoken with but we do not, and have never had any mark up over MSRP on our Broncos. Giuseppe, also do not appreciate the negative review when this is not something we do.

If it is not your dealer I am sorry, if Forum members info is wrong again sorry..... but you can see the anger in these forums with dealers not being honest . If I am wrong I will see about getting review corrected. Stuff happens, mistakes are made.
