My 21 badlands has had a problem from day 1 . Rear window drop was slow. Took it in. Was told it’s normal. It’s not. Took it In again. Didn’t get to it. But they did change rear axle assembly for a leaking seal. Told me they didn’t have time to preform a special service bulletin. Window stopped dropping all together. No door open message, won’t lock. Putting my aviation troubleshooting skills to work, I concluded bad door latch/switch assembly. Took it to dealer near work. Gave them the story, they had the truck all day, said it required extensive troubleshooting and the “master technician “ had to troubleshoot. I brought it back the next day. Told them to change the latch. They troubleshot all day and concluded it was a bad latch/switch and need to special order. Fast forward a month. Part comes in. Drop truck off , they didn’t get to it. They wouldn’t give me the part. I’m just totally fed up! If you can’t finish your daily work load, don’t schedule appointments!!!! Something need to change!

Dang, that’s frustrating. I would definitely see if there are any other dealers in your area. Luckily the second dealer I started using has given my bronco excellent service. Sounds like the troubles you are experiencing aren’t representing ford service as a whole, but just 2 dealers back to back.

Wish you the best of luck! Hopefully the dealer takes care of your bronco

That doesn't sound fun. When service goes south its always a shit storm. We have dozens of stories. My fav is when Toyota didn't torque the lug nuts on one of our rear tires after rotating tires, thus, wheel nearly came off our 4Runner with my wife and son were headed to school. When we arrived back at dealer the service advisor was rude. That's when I tore them a new one and no longer shop at that dealership. We also no longer rotate our tires...unless maybe its on a high powered car that shreds tread but otherwise its not necessary.

Did anyone try to re-set the window that wasn't indexing? Its not hard. You just press and hold that window button down/up for roughly 5 seconds and do it a couple times both ways. Should fix it in most cases.

We sometimes have to re-set our rear window(s) after running our rear window vent accessory (see pic) bc they can mess with the indexing aka window dropping a tad when opening door.

You are not alone. Most dealers have to many mangers and not enough help. They have about 85% of the so called techs that don't know their ass from first base, and the 15% are not much better. The dealers rarely send any of the techs to school and if they do it is only just enough to stay certified to get warranty paid on certain models. And it will get worse before it gets better!

I'm thinking these Broncos are considered a pain in the ass for the Service Techs.

It sounds like your dealership provides a disservice! Do you have any options? Are there any other dealers in your area? Perhaps with time, your dealer's service department will improve. A new model is bound to take some getting used to. For their sake, I hope that's the case since most of their cash flow comes from servicing the vehicles they sell!

Venting on both ends. Customer feels like they're not getting 5 star service, and techs are possibly under trained and overwhelmed with labor load. Nonetheless, FORD corporate should be grading and rating dealerships on a regular basis, and if not up to standards (which I would hope is stiving for 5 star) then disincentivize dealership thru various means.

My dealer service tech, as well as my contact at FORD customer service abruptly stopped communicating with me. It's not how you start; it's how you finish.

I agree, @Mikey D. I mean, it's a service industry! You would think they would have been better prepared for the roll out, and the issues commonly associated with bringing a completely new vehicle to market.

Time to ditch the dealer and try a different one. Dealers are independent businesses, and you might get vastly different levels of service from a different dealer.

My first Ford dealer had a rock-star service department—awesome crew. After I moved to a new state I had to try 2-3 different dealers before I found one that was even close to their level.

Your first statement is so true, and also very hard to remember sometimes. So many dealers put their employees on a commission base, and that fact totally screws everything up. It’s funny that upper management always wants more profit but then never want to do the work.

Update:
2 days after my discussion with the GM, I received a call from him. He asked if I would drop the bronco off so they could fix it. 4 hours later, problem solved. I’m happy my ordeal ended.
Ford should rethink how service is performed.

I feel very fortunate to have the dealership here. They have been great with everything. We've purchased 3 vehicles new from them and have never had any issues.
