Amidst a weakening market, Ford says customers are going after its lower priced models and trims, which let buyers continue with what they want to do, and that provided value is helping the motor company outperform the industry for the 9th consecutive month.

Affordable Trims Help Ford Grow Share in a Lower U.S. Auto Market
"We saw expanded interest in our entry-level trims across our lineup. Combined sales of our more accessible models — the Maverick XL, Ranger XL, and Bronco Sport Big Bend — climbed 26.4%, completely bucking the industry trend. While affordability played strong in November, we have seen this trend playing throughout the year, with sales of Maverick XL, Ranger XL, and Bronco Sport Big Bend up 12.7%.

The numbers tell a clear story of what customers want right now."

For reference, the entry-level 2025 Ford Ranger XL starts at $33,350, the 2026 Maverick XL starts at $28,145, and the 2025 Bronco Sport Big Bend starts at $31,695, making monthly payments in the low-to-mid $300s on a 48-month term. Much better than the $1,425 average payment made by F-150 Raptor owners (2025 F-150 Raptor starts at $79,005), according to S&P data ...

Is this info available for Bronco and Maverick? From the article it looks like lower trim Mavericks are the hottest selling, but do we know what the data says about Bronco? From anecdotal (visual looking around) it seems here in the PNW Badlands is the most popular trim, with lots of Wildtraks…. I have yet to see a Stroppe in the wild…

Hard pass,

Agree. The 2021 Base was $29,995 which escalates to just $35,950 in 2025 dollars. $44K is a stretch. Ford probably lost its butt because of the Bronco launch in the midst of COVID and is trying to recover the financials. A 2026 Base 2-door MSRP is now $40,495.

I know a dealer close to me had Bronco bases around $37,000. I have seen other dealers list them for $40,000 though. The same with the F-150, the STX trim went up $54,000.

Interesting Ford thinks that because people are buying more base models, that is what the market wants. but maybe it is what the people can afford, they would like a higher trim but just cant afford it. I am glad they have the base trim levels a MY22 Basesquatch with every option added was/is a pretty nice ride for $44K. That same vehicle sans mod bumper bash plates rock rails and V6 is $55k that is more than I paid for my Everglades.

National average for new cars is now (in late 2025) $50,080…

Given that, the price of the Broncos across the line-up is not out of line…

It IS interesting that the 2026 Stroppe, which is a four-door, costs LESS than a 2025 2-door Stroppe

It is too bad the Black Diamond model was dropped. IMO it was the perfect model if you wanted decent off-road/poor weather capability without adding unnecessary doo-dads in the 2-door configuration. The reintroduced 2025 Base should have an option for the Advanced transfercase and locking rear diff. You have to get the 'Squatch package now, which is $8,460, just ridiculous IMO.

Not a matter of affordability, many do not want a vehicle loaded up with stuff that won't be working in 5 years or stuff that is going to get removed/replaced.
The mall crawler crowd is saturated, now the enthusiast gets their turn.
Working down the road from a day care gives me the advantage to see what is popular among the non offroader suv buyer crowd. Its not Broncos anymore, it hybrid Kia's now.
Can't blame them 500 mile range and 30+ mpg lower price for loaded up model.
