FORD PASS REWARDS VALUE???

I'm trying to figure out a simple answer to value of Ford Pass Rewards.

The Ford site doesn't seem to make it easy.

I've seen various links, but the most common ones state the points are either worth 1 cent or 1/2 cent per point.

So, if I have 100,000 points, they're worth (100,000 x .01) = $1,000. Or (100,000 x .005) = $500.

Big difference. Which is it?

I believe it’s $0.005 per point. I picked up a hood deflector last week and it used 19,180 points cash price was around $95 after taxes.

It's two separate values depending on whether you are spending or earning.

  • When you SPEND FordPass points, @dover157 is correct. It is $0.005 per point... or 200 points per dollar.
  • When you EARN FordPass points, it is 1 point per every 10¢ spent. Or 10 points per every $1 spent on Ford parts/services.

That's probably why you see some areas refer to 0.01 and others refer to as 0.005.

Also... not to be confused with bonus point categories (ie. for November you can get bonus points on tire puchases)... as well as the FordPass Rewards VISA, which has its own point-per-dollar rates depending on the spending category.

Follow up question here. Bronco will be arriving in the next week or so. I asked my sales guy how many pass points I would be getting and he was not sure. Anyone know this?

Depends on if you had an early reservation, or an original reservation for a dual top or a painted top, which quickly became unavailable. If you weren’t an early reservation holder you get 42K. And if you were early you get an extra 20K. And the dual top, painted top reservation holders got a lot. something like 100K.

I am one of those early reservation holders with the dual top / black painted top, that will never get one now. Took delivery of mine yesterday with MIC top. How long did it take everyone to get the FordPass rewards posted in their account?

The dealer has to log into the FordPass portal and release the points to you. They should be sitting there attached to your name, and all the dealer has to do is pull up your account and hit the "redeem" button. You should get the points within 48 hours after that (usually in less than 30 minutes).

The amount is so low that it's pretty pathetic. I got exactly 42,000 points for my Bronco and it amounted to $210. I used some of the points to exchange for a cargo area liner, which is $145 (!). I was about to purchase a third-party liner for $60 on Amazon, but figured to just use the points instead since it's "free." I checked the Ford site and don't see any other accessories i really want.

My points appeared eight days after I took delivery.

This is where I'm at. I have 74000 ($370) points but nothing that I really want. Not sure what I'm going to do with them. I change my own oil so I'm not going to spend them for service.

Do my points roll over if I buy another new Ford? I have 42000 points from a Transit purchase. If I buy a Bronco, will I have 84000 points?

Yes. Point values change based on what you buy though:

  • Gasoline/Hybrid - 42,000
  • Diesel - 75,000
  • Electric - 22,000 + 250 kWh Electrify America credit

Points expire after sitting idle for 1 year. So to keep the points "active" you have to spend/earn at least 1 point per year. As long as you do that the will never expire.

Crap, I didn't know that. I checked and my points are now 0. They expired a week ago.

I don't want the FordPass app tracking my ass and selling my data to every schmo trying to sell me something. I passed on the damned thing (yeah I'm a Boomer -lol). $210 was not worth it.

Eh… it’s a lost cause with modern vehicles. Your vehicle information is logged anyway and associated to the VIN. It’s used for Vehicle Health Reports, Navigation, etc. The Bronco has an AT&T cellular modem installed in it that it uses to do all of this, and that modem is doing its thing even if you don’t use FordPass.

Granted it’s not specifically attached to your name, it’s attached to the VIN, but pretty easy to link the two since your name became attached to the VIN when you bought the vehicle. I could type in your VIN into Ford’s database and see the latest vehicle health data, owner information, warranty information, etc.

I work in cybersecurity so I totally understand the desire to stay private. And before I bought the Bronco I read Ford’s privacy policy just to see what they’re doing. And they got these things fully connected to their online servers even if you don’t use FordPass. Pretty insane—but not unexpected. Our privacy laws are fairly week here in the US.

Watching this thread for clarity. I picked up my Bronco Wildtrak on Monday, just checked Ford Pass for the points tonight (thursday):
Bronco Roof Bonus: 200,000 pts
Bronco Reservation Thank you Bonus: 20,000 pts
Purchase Points: 42,000 pts

I waited 904 days for the car... I'm pleased.
Reserved on 7/24/20; waited 905 days.
