Got an email from FNBO, It appears the Ford Rewards Visa Credit Cards are going away. Wonder if Ford will replace it with a different company or if the points system is going away also.

"New applications for the FordPass® Rewards Visa® Card are no longer being accepted. Any Points and/or Tier status earned from the FordPass Rewards Visa by current cardholders through May 27, 2025, will be retained. After May 27, 2025, FordPass Rewards Points and Tier Activities will no longer be awarded for the use of the FordPass Rewards Visa. Cardholders will receive communication from First National Bank of Omaha (FNBO®) with additional details."

FordPass points will still reside in the FordPass App… unsure as to whether Ford will offer up another credit card that rewards posts for purchases…

I should have gone with cash back. Instead I get stupid points for southwest I haven’t flown anywhere other than work in 10 years. But I did use my points to fly my boys home from Vegas last year because they didn’t want to go onto Moab with us.

Your boys? Your boys didn't want to go to Moab? This may be indelicate of me, but have you considered family DNA testing?😐

No we took the oldest to Vegas (drove) for his 21st and they both needed to get back home to go to work. My oldest is deathly afraid of heights (as was I when I was his age) so he would not have had any fun. Driving over the Hoover damn was very interesting luckily there was a C8 corvette in front of us that was keeping his attention.

The rewards from this card were not great, except for purchases from Ford. I opened an account with this card prior to buying my Bronco, and was able to most of my down payment on this card. I received a ton of Ford rewards points plus a $200 credit for spending more than $6K in a year on the card. I paid it off right away, so did not pay any interest. The letter from the card company said they will change it to some other rewards program, so I plan on closing it.

For those who currently have the card... it's getting replaced by a new "GearUp" card.

Standard points card that is more automotive-focused it seems. Looks like the card doesn't have an annual fee, so no reason for me to close right away. But I don't know if I will continue to use it like I have been.

A thread on the other site ("non-detergent gasoline") got sidetracked to shopping Costco efficiently, and then credit card usage. I manage 4 credit cards (gotta watch those due dates!) to maximize points, Costco being one. I very rarely pay cash. All those rewards combine for a few thousand dollars of value each year--which is, BTW, invisible to IRS.

You keep hyping Costco's coffee, so I tried their medium roast. Very impressed! I'll leave the dark roast to you. When I want burned coffee, I go to the 7-11 at 3:30 AM and see what's been on the burner for a few hours. 🙊
