Hello, Bronco Nation crew!

Did anyone else’s rig flood in the torrential downpour this weekend in Northern California? I got my ‘22 Outer Banks four-door two weeks ago and last week the dealer installed the factory purchased retractable twill front row (i.e., the OEM Bestop Sunrider). I also got my windows tinted (including the windshield) last week. I’ve got so many factors going on that I wanted to see if anyone else had any issues with the rain flooding the front passenger floor.

Thanks for your all’s input!

Whether its the top or windshield/pillar water is known to intrude on passenger side but should be fixable.

Also. Were your front windows cracked open even a little, if so, water can leak in that way pretty bad from the OEM soft top and likely sunrider too.

I think, not certain, some 2022 models have a windshield recall as well. which you can confirm in the MyFord app.

Hope this helps.

yikes - no, - I'm in Sacramento - drove to work in some pretty good rain today (I have the stock soft top) - no issues ... until I opened my door to get out - then the normal drips that came through ... but aside from that, no issues. and I drove Through a torrential desert rain storm a couple weeks ago in Johnson Valley/Mojave area - no issues

Thank you for your input! I will be sure to check out my app. My sales guy is checking on his end too to see if this is a known issue for my model. And I double checked the passenger window earlier this afternoon before writing my original post, it was all the way up. 😢

Push up on the soft top so water can fall off roof before opening the door/window. Helps eliminate the flood gates

That front passenger area seems to be a fickle beast with these Broncos when it comes to rain... I have a hard top but same issue - never caught in a torrential downpour, though. Any time it rained overnight I would find a puddle of water on the passenger floor (win for the washout floors) and water dripping down the A pillar and from the above cross member. I took it to my dealer and a seal was replaced. Did not fix the issue. Took it in again and more seals were replaced, which they believe solved the issue. We're getting warmer weather and plenty of rain here in NE OH this weekend, so we will find out.

I’m seriously considering the Mabett Window Visor Rain Guards to stop all the water from falling into my truck when I open the doors. (https://a.co/d/j0gj9Cs)

Good to know. Thank you! I’ll be taking mine back in for them to reseal it as well. We’ll see if it works. And I too am super happy I have the washout floors!

We don’t often get as much rain here in the Bay Area of CA as I am familiar with growing up on Lake Erie in OH. And we for sure don’t get the downpours here we’ve gotten over the last week. But I know your pain in NE OH. Glad you all are getting out of the sub-zero temps so it can rain and you’re not getting snow or sleet!

I checked for recalls and I don’t have any at this point. But I’m taking her back to the dealer for them to reseal the windshield. Praying that works! We’ll see. 🤷

Houston here. My baby has driven in and sat in 3-4" per hour rain and I've had no issue. You definitely have a problem with some of that work. I'm sorry mate.

Well, rained again last night and.... still leaking on the passenger side. Water coming down and in from the A pillar... Fun.

So sorry to hear this, @Marmot that’s not cool at all!

it’s been raining here too but not hard at all. And my dealership’s service guys took off the Sunrider and put my hard top panels back on while we wait for the parts to fix the known issue of leaking. So far today I haven’t had any more water…but like I said, it hasn’t been raining hard like it did last weekend. So I’m still unsure if it was the piss-poor job the service guys did putting my Sunrider on or if it is the known issue that caused my flooding…🤷

Brainstorming here...do you have an accessory installed at the top of the windshield e.g. light bar, rack? If so, possibly an issue with install that is allowing water intrusion. If no accessories, try popping off access plate and see if there is anything going on that could allow water to intrude at that pillar.
