First recall 2022 windshield glue 22C12 NHTSA to do or not to do

I got heath report on Ford Pass on windshield recall made in spring 2022. Brought to dealer on rusted mirror bolts, but decline first 2022 recall since no leaking and pedes. avoidance receiver is affixed on windshield, etc.

I'm glad you've had no leaks, Frank. The concern is it may detach in a crash.

Had also read that the glue may melt in which will cause leaks in future. My take, FORD would not place a recall unless a major concern. It's under warranty and free.

Ford attorneys , like on board storage of doors on 4 doors , are concern on product liability, so let me ask you this question , if you get in accident the forward motion, which way would the windshield move if there is a lip on the A frame.. If the accident is head on the safety glass will crack in fine pieces anyway.

If you don't get it fixed, the recall doesn't go away, it will stay with your vehicle until the repair is completed. If you keep it until it's a pile of rust sitting in a field, the recall will still be on file. If you sell it, the potential new buyer will see the recall is outstanding, and if you try to trade it in, it'll show the recall hasn't been completed when a dealer pulls up the VIN. Personally I'd much rather know that the glue holding the windshield in isn't going to melt in the heat and cause my windshield to leak or fall out...but, you do you.
