Have put about 1k miles on my Bronco and am wondering when I should do first oil change. Any thoughts/recommendations?

I changed mine at about 1300 but according to Ford it was too early. They changed it though. I have always changed oil in my new cars after 1000 miles break-in.

You'll get all kinds of opinions on this but I always try to change my oil between 500-1000 miles. I just think it's good insurance and it really doesn't cost that much. Then I change every 5000 miles with a good synthetic. The turbos love clean oil.

Same mileage here. Just did mine last weekend. Very simple and easy to do.

I asked my dealer when to do 1st change, they said 3,000 miles so that's when I did it. With 2nd oil change I switched to full synthetic. Since then I've been doing every 8,000 miles.

As stated previously though, everyone on here will probably say something different.

I am at 5,000 miles and it still says I have 40% life left (2.3L manual). I think that is stretching it a bit so I plan to get it changed soon.

I believe the manual calls for between 5,000 and 10,000 depending on severity of use. I just completed a road trip from Florida to Utah and back. Left with 2,500 miles on the OD. Put 5,000 on during the trip. First oil change scheduled next week. My Bronco is 9 months old.

Did my first oil change at 5k and just completed my second at 10k, along with a five tire rotation. Service advisor suggested an oil change every 5k with the turbo engine. I took delivery of my 2.7 Badlands SAS Lux one year ago this month and have had zero issues — love everything about it!

Did 1st change at 600mi (always do this on a new car) at dealership.
It was no charge. After this I do when the cars says change is due.

did mine at 975. will change every 5k, or 6 months whichever comes first. also will probably switch to full synthetic. currently using semi-syn 5w30. will also probably switch oil filters from motorcraft to STP. The filter construction looks a little better.
