First Issue With My 2023 Bronco - FordPass

The first issue I’m having with my new bronco, is getting FordPass to work, as far as locking, unlocking, and starting the vehicle with the app. I’ve been working with the helpdesk for a few days now to no avail now they are turning it over to the advanced team. They said it was a “known issue” with the 2023 Bronco and F150’s. Anyone else experiencing this, that might have a solution?

I did have a problem but was able to correct it with just a couple of quick fixes. What have you tired so far?
4-dr Wildtrak, Lux pkg, MIC, Leather, A51, Heavy Duty Modular bumper, and roof rack. Ordered Feb 14, 2022. In production Nov 28, 2022. Built Nov 30, 2022. Shipped via rail December 6th. Acquired Dec 31. Just livin’ the dream.

So far so good with my 23. Setup the app before I got to the dealer. Put in the VIN when I got there and everything worked. Have used the auto start a handful of times since (going on week 3 of ownership). Is the vehicle showing up in the app? Is the issue the vehicle receiving the message from the phone?

So I followed the steps as described in the video below. I needed to get in the fuse box and pull the fuses out and check them…they were both good…so I immediately put them back in. I added my Bronco back to the Ford Pass app and it worked.

Had the same problem in between the Holidays. Called them said it was a know issue. They told me to wait for a update coming the first week of January since they were on vacation that week. Waited and tried the other day and it worked. Basically you have to wait for them to sent the update out and to make sure your Bronco is connected to some sort of internet source.

I did have a problem but was able to correct it with just a couple of quick fixes. What have you tired so far?
I found the chat transcript and here is what he had me try (sorry so long, I cut out some of the meaningless chatter):
Carlos: I would like for you to toggle the connectivity settings off and back on inside the vehicle.
Carlos: Go to Settings>Connectivity>Connectivity Vehicle Features.
Carlos: Okay. I suggest to sign out of the app and sign back in.
Carlos: I would like to do a reset inside the vehicle to see if we can resolve this issue.
Carlos: This is a known issue we are currently working on that affects all new 2023 F150s and Broncos.
You: I tried locking, still not working.
Carlos: okay.
Carlos: Lets do a reset inside the vehicle.
You: Ok
Carlos: Press on Vehicle image on the top of the screen and go to General >Reset>Fordpass Connect Reset and press reset all.
Carlos: perform a key cycle, which is turning the vehicle off an opening the door and closing the door and starting the vehicle again.
Carlos: Which reset did you do inside the vehicle?
You: I did FordPass Connect Reset
Carlos: Great. Unfortunately, it did not register.
Carlos: Can we try another reset. It will be the same step but Master/Factory reset instead.
You: ok, one other thing to note. My Bronco is not connecting to WiFi. When I go to Available Wi-Fi networks, there are none listed.
Carlos: For the best assistance, I would like to refer you to the In-Vehicle Technology team. They can be reached at 800-392-3673 between 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m. EST (Monday-Friday); 8:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m.(Saturday)

You: OK. Should I still do the factory reset?

You: OK that is done

Carlos: I will like to send this to the advance team. I need you to go to FordPass in the phone and click Account>Help>Device Information at the bottom.

Thank you! This may have been the issue because my vehicle also wasn’t connecting to the internet, thus not getting updates. They did get that fixed for me so maybe it will update during the next down/upload . Thanks again.

I've only ran into one issue starting my 23 everglades. Saying vehicle failed to shut off when I was trying to start it. Just closing out the app and restarting it fixed it.

Well I probably jinxed myself by responding that I had no issues as now my app isn’t connecting with the Bronco and when I go into connectivity settings in the Bronco I’m getting an error. Open to ideas.

Do you happen to live in a rural part of the country??

FordPass requires the AT&T cellular network to function correctly--your Bronco actually connects to the internet and talks to Ford's servers using an AT&T modem inside the vehicle. So if AT&T's cell service is spotty in your area, that could explain a lot.

Do you happen to live in a rural part of the country??

FordPass requires the AT&T cellular network to function correctly--your Bronco actually connects to the internet and talks to Ford's servers using an AT&T modem inside the vehicle. So if AT&T's cell service is spotty in your area, that could explain a lot.
No. Pretty metro area actually. I can go to a closer Ford dealer just the one I bought from is in a different part of the state.

Have not got a resolution yet. The advanced team is supposed to call me to try and work through it. I tried everything that the chat guy said to do and what was in the video @NavPatriot sent but still not working. Now the WiFi isn’t connecting anymore either. I’m sure I’ll end up having to take to my dealer but at least they are close by. Sorry for the trouble you are having @Dr Detroit Let me know if they get it resolved.

so ford pass app stopped working. Went to dealer who tried to fix it. They called ford and we were told that this is a known issue that they are looking to remedy hopefully by the end of the month.

Thanks @Mustang65 ... that is what they told me as well. I just tried removing my vehicle from FordPass and reinstalling, but it won't even let me activate now. Guess I'll wait and see. 😡

did the same thing, went to the dealership and they tried the same things. Ford told us today that this is a issue with not only the bronco but also the F150.

Update today:
I got a data exchange legal disclaimer pop up today. So I decided to check the connectivity setting and it was suddenly working. Took me a bit to get the app to connect because it said it was waiting on the vehicle. Did a reset, started everything over and now I’m back to normal. Given that it’s Friday the 13th, I probably just jinxed myself again and it will be down tomorrow. Wonder if an OTA fix came in?

Yeah my ford app is now no longer working... hopefully a fix comes sooner then later.
