New Ranger T6 platform was modified years ago outside USA. 60% of T6 was engineered DOWN UNDER!
Ranger rear leaf springs when into multi link rear coil over shocks an a mountain of a SUV was born years ago..
But in the USA you will never see the Everest. Yes India gets it, and most southearst Asia since it made in Thialand and China.
So is a Bronco chassis a EVEREST. Have you seen the new Bronco TV ads with those mountain ("Everest") G.O.A.T.'s and a foyld turned into a wild Bronco(sport). If you search Everest by Ford DOWN UNDER it rides well on road and has full time four wheel drive, with terrain management and low range. The multi link rear Dana differencial has electronic locking. Everest come with 10 speed, but mostly diesel engines, although 2.3L I-4 is available in some markets.
So if it quack like a duck, it a duck! The Everest is a seven passinger SUV ,good cargo areas, but no Bronco 3 1/2" hump behind the second seats,all rear seats fold flat, but they slide and tilt like the Land Rover Discovery, a major competitor, beside Land Cruisers.This Everest is not cheep, like a Base Bronco, but priced like a Land Rover Discovery 7 passenger. Since Ford will not let any writers take a spin on or off road, but the round nose Everest is on its second generation. First looked like old body on frame Explorer. Expedition are like old Bronco were on F150 chassis.
In conclusion the Everest would go head to head with my 2013 Range Rover Sport, last body on frame chassis.$60K, but no wood trims on Everest. Note all Fords SUV models all start with E'S!
