Mid-November is when the cutover from 2022 to 2023 is currently scheduled. Assuming Ford sticks to that schedule, final scheduling for 2022 should occur early-to-mid September.
In the current market situation I personally would want the older model year vehicle. Vehicle manufacturers have been removing features from vehicles to reduce the number of necessary microchips. So far the features removed from the Bronco have been fairly minor and non-consequential (like temperature readouts on the climate control knobs). But, never know what they'll do for 2023... and when you combine that with the year-over-year price increases, I definitely would want the older model year vehicle.
Last year the cut off was 12 Dec 2021, but they were still building 2021's into the 3rd week of December. Must be they moved it ahead a month this year.
I got my 2021 on 27 Dec 2021. I'm glad I got a 2021 instead of a 2022.
