I took delivery of my 2-door back in November in OH. But at some point this spring / summer, I'll want to try "doorless driving" so checking to see if people have been using the OEM option for garage storage bags?

I have not seen aftermarket alternatives. For those that have removed doors, is are you using these vs. wrapping in a blanket or similar? My plan would be to leave them off for a while if going to the trouble.

Follow up question re: Ford Points. The website has 15% off thru end of April, but it appears they make you apply Ford Pass points prior to the discount code. Is it better/easier to to use dealer parts dept vs. online sale? I have no experience using these points, and thought I'd use them toward Off Rodeo, but don't see that option for meager 42K points. 😥

I don't know anything about Ford Points, but I drive doorless with my 2 door as much as possible. I love it! Just be careful on the highway with wind (I lost a quilt :()
Anyway, I did spring for the bags and I find them invaluable for storage. That being said, I don't have a garage and I store them in my carport, so they do an excellent job of keeping the doors protected and secure. They are a very high quality piece of kit, with padding where it needs to be and good zippers.

If you do get them, a tip that I learned is that you can put the bags onto the doors almost all the way before removing the doors; that way you don't have to faff about with trying to get the doors into the bags after they're off. Our 2 door doors are big and awkward!

Good luck!

Bought those with my points right after I got my 4 door Badlands. Love them. Easy to use and really good quality. Reinforced on the bottom and soft lining as well. Stored my doors in them for most of the warm summer weather against the wall in my garage. Agree with the other post that you can get them on the doors almost completely before you take them off.

If you are unsure about whether you will be going doorless on a regular basis, I would suggest trying it out at least once before buying the covers. You can wrap them in blankets for your trial.

If you decide you will go doorless regularly , get the covers. The reason you aren’t seeing after-market options is because the factory options are great quality, so aftermarket can only try to beat them on price, and it is a bit of a niche market.

The doors are pretty easy to take off and put back on, so don’t think of it as something you’ll have to live with one way or another for a long time because of the trouble.

As for the sale and points, you might as well use the points when you know you have something you want. Whether you spend money on one thing and use points in another or vice versa, it’s the same. Use the points as soon as you know what you want. Otherwise you may someday end up with a bunch of points and not know what you want to spend them on.

Makes sense, I won't have to worry about accumulating too many points, since I only buy a new car every 10 years or so! But may as well use them on something with no aftermarket option I suppose. I was just bummed you can't get the benefit of 15% off and the points, but no big deal.
Thx.
