I'm sure there have been discussions on this, but I was hoping someone could explain why Ford discontinues popular color choices like Area 51 and Cyber Orange. Thanks

So us peeps who got Rapid Red on our '21's can come in here with 50k miles and still ask for $10k over what we paid for it! 😁

Actually, I have no idea why they do it. I'm sure there is some rhyme or reason to the madness, but we will probably never know. Plus Area 51 was ugly anyways.

What bothers me is Ford offers the same color in different shades. Area 51, Azure gray...they are almost the same color. Carbon gray, silver metallic.......they are almost the same color. Cactus gray drops between those but again its a very similar color tone. Ford needs to offer bolder more exciting colors from different areas of the color chart for the Bronco.

I dunno it is kinda cool having one of only 500-750 Broncos in Desert Sand. Pure guess at this point since we only know there were less than 1000 everglades produced and only a limited number were DS.
But I would like to see AMB make a come back that is an awesome color.

None of these cars will have a premium value in the future. There is nothing special about them other than being an offroad vehicle that is better than a crossover.
It has to be more than rare, it has to have desirable features that are above ordinary and a strong following. As a collector car the current Bronco doe not make it.
Make a Bill Stroppe version with a V-8 and you would have something.

Maybe to mix things up? It seems to me that roughly 50% of the 6Gs I've seen are area51.

I'm not 100 % sure on this but if I were to take a guess, it might have something to do with actually building and then painting different models of Ford vehicles (not limited to broncos) at certain plants. Also, they probably just tried to streamline the process based on actual orders. I think we can all agree that the Robins Egg Blue was a poor tradeoff for even Area 51. I currently have an Eruption Green 2 door base sasquatch and I constantly get compliments on the color but if I had ordered a 21 my, I would've opted for the Antimatter Blue.

How about a 2 door limited with portals?... Does not really matter... I will have so much money into this thing I will NEVER get my money back out. But I do not care.... I am building this for me, not resale.

No we can not.... I really prefer the REB... and by the response I get from others.... I think a lot of people like it... Probably not people that would buy a Bronco though....

πŸ˜€ Awe Thanks!!! I thought of you the other day, driving home after dinner I played leap frog with another EG Bronco! It was nice riding behind him at times! I love my Eruption Green Bronco!! The color is so sharp! No regrets!!

I do envy your auburn lights though! Some day I will be a poser and add them to my Badlands! πŸ˜‰πŸ˜Ž

Excellent question! Perhaps focus groups weighed in unfavorably. In corporate America, a lot of things are decided upon by a committee. I doubt one person is responsible for pulling the plug on any given color.

At the end of the day, they have to be able to move units, so maybe they felt the colors they abandoned lacked sustainable interest. They may have thought those colors were great, high-impact colors. Initially, at least. Once they made a splash, their job was done, so they were retired. They generated interest in the brand and then they decided to go with "safer" colors for a wider audience. Just a hunch.
Chris here. I drive a 2-door Velocity Blue 2023 Ford Bronco Badlands with Sasquatch, Lux, a 2.7L V6, and an automatic transmission. It’s fun.
