Dilemma...new Bronco or classic Mustang

First world problems I know but I bought a 65 Mustang GT a year ago. I also had a reservation for a 21 Bronco that was pushed to 22. No big deal I thought as orders were taking a while to fulfill. However, after an order for a '22 basequatch 2 door in October, I recd word from my dealer that it's scheduled for production on March 28th. My problem is that I can't really afford both. So do I sell the Mustang (I can double money on this with how the classic car market has gone) and use the funds to pay for a new Bronco? Or do I pass on the Bronco for now and keep the GT? I hate to let go of an appreciating asset but I've loved the Bronco line since I was a kid. Any idea of how a 22 Bronco not used as a daily driver will value in several years? To me, both are considered toys and a luxury item. Sort of am investment that I can leave to my kids someday.

Sorry...it's a coupe. Fully restored about 10 yrs ago so it's pretty clean. It's an A code, not the K code.

Well …
You wanted opinion,
I would sell it and clear my profit since it’s a coupe.
Fastback - no way I would part with it.
I actually have a 65 Mustang Convertible finished about 10 years ago.
I feel your pain, “I really do”
Thank goodness I’ve been blessed and don’t have to make your decision.

The Mustang will appreciate more than the Bronco that is for sure, with a few caveats. Restomod versus restored original, etc. The market is up and down, but it is a collector car and the bronco will probably never be a collector item.

I truly appreciate your honest opinions. My brain tells me to keep the GT since they will never make more and hopefully that market continues to rise. I do love how well old cars are made...so simple and the rumble of the 289 is unforgettable. But I agree that it's not a fastback. My heart wants them both. Again, I appreciate the comments. And thanks for not bashing me for the post. It's been eating at me since I heard from my dealer.

I've been following the Mustang market for close to 20 years, and I think it's starting to level out. I think any car, including a classic Mustang will go up in value to meet inflation, but I don't think 65-70 Mustangs will rise much faster that inflation at this point. I'd try to turn your Bronco for quick cash, keep the Mustang and order another Bronco. Right now the market is still ripe for Broncos, way more than Mustangs. You can sell the Mustang in 2 years and still do well, but your Bronco will be worth way more now compared to 2 years from now.
All this coming from someone who is selling a 70 Grande, so take it for what it's worth, just an opinion.
I'm also selling my Bronco once it gets in and have another on order. Profit from the first should help pay for the second.
Either way, keep enjoying Fords and freedom while they last!

If it’s eating at you …
“Keep the GT”. And let the Bronco go.
“”They Will Build Many More” and very likely better horsepower and updated options.

This might be an option as well. I could resell the Bronco and put in another order. Seems like another 12 months but maybe I could afford both at that time. Who knows? Thanks and best of luck with your 70.

Dude keep the mustang. Tell dealer to 99 your order if you can or sell bronco. They will be making plenty of them. True 65 mustangs ain’t being made. You can get bronco next year or whatever.

I have a 69 Cougar XR7 S code vert, factory 4 speed. I'm not going to find another one like this. Have a WT ordered on 10/13/21. Not planning on seeing that anytime soon. I too thankfully do not need to make that decision as well. I'd say keep the Mustang. And what ever you do do not sell anything until you have both in hand. Good luck.

Love the Cougars as well. Looked at a couple before getting the GT. Enjoy it and the WT when it gets in. Appreciate the advice.

I will go against the grain. I say take your profit on the old classic and get the newer vehicle. Bronco might have problems, but nothing like an old classic. How many times do you want to scour the web and trader mags for parts? Do you enjoy working on your vehicle to keep it up and running?

If you like going to car shows and enjoy all the smiles that the classics bring, I get it.
But if it is any sort of a daily driver I think it is a tough to pick the Mustang.

Also as the segment of the population that loves that era Mustang ages, there is only so much demand unless it is a special collector grade car.

I believe the fastback GT was the most common, followed by the coupe then the convertible. If it were a 350 I would say keep it. Just how I see it.

Good points as well. I am not mechanically inclined so the thought of not dealing with ongoing issues in a classic car are not lost on me. I wish I could do both but neither would be a daily driver. I have a couple of months to ponder but it's been a daily dilemma. Thanks for the input.

I just sold this last month after having it for almost 20 years, and restoring it myself - to have some extra funds to put towards the Bronco .. .tough choice, but I wasn't driving it enough to justify keeping it .. how it looked the day I bought it in 2003, and how it looked when I sold it
