Hello All,

I ordered a '22 Bronco Big Bend 2.3L (Mid Package) Non - SAS.
I plan on Lifting 2.5 - 3 inch lift adding 35's I've added a 4.27 Locking Rear Locker.

The most this thing will seen more often than not off-road will be mud, streams of Ga and North Ga Mtns. Some Rock.

Will this build 2.3L with 35's and Locking Rear 4.27 in mud, water, rock and lots of asphalt be good? OR Do I need to alter something?

Any help is greatly appreciated?

You'll be just fine with just a rear locker. I ordered the exact same thing. I've done a number of 4x4 builds in the past as well as a 2wd pre-runner and I learned that a rear locker is all you need for all but the most extreme off-roading. If you're not into rock crawling or deep mud running (I'm talking mud bogs, not muddy trails) you'll never regret not having a front locker. It's nearly impossible to steer with a front locker engaged so it's not beneficial in most situations.

If locking rear was available on the Base, I would have not ordered Sasquatch. If you have auto transmission, not gonna have any effect on mileage...

Different vehicle I know but my other vehicle is a JK 2dr Wrangler with 6spd. It came with 3.73 gears and 32's but noted a significant loss on trails when I bumped up to 33/34s. I regeared to 4.56 and haven't felt a lack for anything since. If you have an auto, you may not feel any difference with the gearing over bigger tires, as many on the other (JP) forum claim. I'd look at $ for $ of what they're offering to what it would cost aftermarket to put on. When I looked at non-SAS vs SAS, I felt it was worth the money going factory rather than go aftermarket.

I went with the lower gears mostly to have the locking differential. Wanted the piece of mind if I’m ever stuck to have that ability. I also liked the idea of having a bit more giddy up from a stop, not so worried about higher speeds. For the price, seemed to make the most sense to have it done from the factory.

My 2 cents is that it will be good however not ideal.

I had the Big Bend Squatched with Mid package, however with the cut off date of 3/7/22 I have decided to drop the Modular Bumper and the Sasquatch package just so I have a chance to get it sooner and still be price protected.
I am now sitting with a Big Bend 2.3L Mid package with the 4.27 with rear locking diffs, instead of the stock 3.73. I went this route because I will only be adding one more size up in tires, stock us 32" and I plan on going up to the 33" tires. My neighbor has the Badlands trim, and it is stocked with the 33" tires and it looks very nice with them, and his is a 4 door. I am thinking that with the 2 door that I have on order this will be a perfect set up running the 33" tires. This should be plenty enough of a setup to wheel this thing almost anywhere, and I have seen 33" tires have plenty of enough clearance to not hit inside the wheel wells in articulation situations.

Good luck to you on your decisions on what your plans are for your ultimate build.
