DID WE JUST GET SCAMMED BY 4WP FACTORY? 2021 BRONCO PARTS NOT AS THEY SHOW?

While we have nothing against 4 Wheel Parts (4WP), we think their advertising of the items on the 4WP Bronco is pretty shady because they are not the parts you are getting. These items are pre production items that are not the actual items you are receiving when you buy them. After installing the bumper and winch mount, the skid plate was next. First issue is it doesn’t fit the Broncos with the tow loops that stick through the plastic rain guard/skid plate. The loops will not allow the braces for the skid plate to be installed or even left out because the loop prevents proper installation. Even after major fabrication to actually install the skid plate the 3” gap between the bumper and skid plate was not what I was expecting.

I contacted 4WP and questioned the fitment issue with the set up and the possibility of a defective skid plate. This is the answer I received:

The official word from R&D was this:

The large gap is to make sure the skid plate is compatible with both OE and 4WP bumper and to ensure the 4WP bumper is compatible with the OE and 4WP skid.

This is the reason for the gap. The photos that were used on the website depict a slightly earlier prototype version of the bumper & skid used for marketing purposes that is not an 100% exact representation of the final product.

While they offer full refund, I asked if they were going to change the pictures and I was told “NO”. I even tried to give a review, twice, once to include the email I got from above and show pictures of the actual skid plate and another watered down version. This is what I got from them:

Although I will be keeping the parts and fabricating the upgrades to the skid plate myself I did want people to know what are actually getting before they spend $2k and up for items they will not be able to fabricate fixes on their own.

By the way, the gap that is left open is directly in front of your intercooler. something that, in my opinion, should not be left open for any type of off-roading.
