I thought some may get a kick out of this...
So the last couple days, I took some time out of my day and created a spreadsheet to try and figure out what dealerships were selling Broncos at MSRP and which ones weren't. I went to All Ford Dealers on Ford.com and started picking states and worked my way through the list. If they had a Bronco in inventory I would try to find the Window Sticker and compare its price vs the price on the dealership website. I got through KY, TN, MD, DE, WV, and VA. When I did this, a couple things become apparent....
Any dealership who has more than 6 in stock, in most instances, has a $10-20K ADM. Koons, who has probably 20 dealerships in the Washington DC area, has 42 Broncos in inventory (by far the most Broncos in inventory of any dealership). A Base 2.3l Bronco with maybe 1-2 options (approx. $30K MSRP) has an additional $10K ADM being tacked on by Koons. The higher end Broncos are being marked up $15-20K over MSRP. They even had a 2021 4dr Black Diamond with 13,313 miles, and selling it at $61,500. The worst offender for ADM that I saw, is a dealership in Jarratt, VA who is selling a 4dr Wildtrak at $99,995.
I also found very few dealerships who had Broncos in inventory (and had a window sticker for comparison) were advertising the Broncos at MSRP. This doesnt mean that you are guaranteed to get it at MSRP, but does give a bit of hope. For example, in the 47 Ford dealerships in Kentucky, I found only two (2) advertising at MSRP. There were nine (9) that I could confirm had ADM, thirty dealerships had no Bronco inventory, and the remaining six (6) had at least one (1) Bronco in inventory, but I could not validate if their website price reflected MSRP or not.
I will end with this summarization, there are alot of dealerships out there that dont have any Broncos in inventory, and there are ones that do. Unfortunately, of those that do, the vast majority are charging an ADM ($10-20k seems to be the overwhelming average). Kinda a bleak outlook on the state of dealerships in America in my humble opinion. Its pretty pathetic that the greed of dealership owners has tainted one of the best things that has happened to the auto industry in the last couple of years, and during the pandemic to boot.
You really have to give props to dealerships like Granger and Town & Country (AL) for making it public that they honor MSRP, and following through to the dotted line. The only problem is that they have been flooded with orders (probably 1-2% of total Bronco orders out there) and dont seem to have (or at least communicated to order holders) how order #500 or #1000 is going to get their Bronco in the next 12-24 months...that's what I want to know. Take care and Enjoy your Bronco when you get it. (still waiting on my 2dr Hot Pepper Red Badlands with High Pkg...)
