Does anyone remember when Ford said that dealerships would get more allocations if they built a specific Bronco showroom?

I am just curious if anybody did such a thing and if it made a bit of difference.

Allocations are a mystery to me. Last year while I was waiting for mine, I saw large dealerships in metro areas with no Broncos. At the same time, I saw a small, rural dealership with 6 Broncos on their lot. That same dealership currently has a Raptor, and 3 other Broncos sitting on the lot for at least the past 2 weeks.

Interesting. I bet it's a complete coincidence but the local dealership started building a new showroom (still being built) and they started getting Broncos suddenly. They also got a massive light up Bronco picture. Their other dealership got a big light up Bronco faux planter box too.

Yup! I remember this.

Supposedly it was an idea dealers came up with, and Ford agreed to offer some seed funding/support to get it started for a handful of dealers (I think 100 total). Supposed to be a showroom where you could buy Bronco accessories, show off the Bronco, it would have meeting space for local Bronco clubs, etc etc. Sounded like a cool idea.

There was a dealer close-ish to me (not really, but it was drivable) that was selected to participate. They cleared the land for the building and then… crickets. Not sure if the economics didn’t work out or what exactly happened. I had toyed around with the idea to switch my order to that dealership, but after realizing price protection was becoming a huge issue for many people, I just decided to stick with my current known & trusted dealer.

It seems like a handful of dealers made it to the finish line, but definitely not many.

My brother lives along the Washington/Oregon border. He spotted one in Oregon on his way to Crater Lake Ntl Park and sent me a text about it:

Sanderson Ford in AZ has a stand alone Bronco store. It is very nice. They were one of the first in the nation. And yes they do get a lot of Bronco’s
