Detailing Fender flares

After washing my Bronco, I noticed “salt” stains on the fender flares (I put salt in quotes, because I haven’t driven on any salted roads).

I read somewhere that “Scrubbing Bubbles Mega Shower Foamer” worked well to clean them, so I tried it:

After the bubbles disappeared, I scrubbed it with a cloth, and then rinsed with water. After the flare dried, it looked like this:

So, not so great.

Then I decided to apply “Solution Finish Black Trim Restorer.

A little goes a long ways. Wear gloves if you are going to apply it - it’s very black.

It doesn’t make the Flare super-shiny, which I like. And, it completely hid the stains!
I’ll post back with some photos in a month or so, and show how well it’s held up.

Best cleaner I have found for fender & bumper plastics is LA’s Awesome All Purpose Cleaner

And best protectant / top coat is Cerakote

I wonder if it were ceramic coated from the start if it could have been prevented.
