Out of curiosity just wondering what dealerships are charging for oil change/tire rotation on broncos. Had my first oil change in at the end of December, since I opted for the extra warranty that included pre paid maintenance for the first 36k I didn’t pay any attention to pricing (looking at the receipt it all says $0 anyway) but noticed a couple days ago that it’s logged in my Ford pass account. According to the app my oil change was $492.02. Is this what oil changes at a dealership cost now? If I remember I’ll ask them next time I’m in but if this is what I need to prepare for when the free service expires then I’ll be doing driveway maintenance.
Edit to add I have a 2.3 with manual

It’s a joke. If you pay over $90.00 bucks just bend over 🤣.

I typically get a full synthetic oil change & 5 tire rotation for $119 from the dealer.
(1) time it came out to be $179, no idea why and I had choice words with dealer. But every other time it's been $119 with tire rotation.

$429??? You got hosed!!

What's that UNKNOWN charge at the bottom?

Thankfully for my wallet I didn't pay anything that day was included in the pre paid maintenance, just caught me off guard. I have no idea what the unknown service was either. Just want to make sure that it wasn’t standard for ford to charge at BMW rates for an oil change. Will definitely be asking them what the cash price is before I run out of pre paid ones so I’m not left getting a loan for the oil.

I get my wife's Explorer serviced at our local Ford Dealer and it usually runs $70-$80. That is oil change, tire rotation and "multi-point inspection". Only time it's ever higher is when they have to change an air filter or something.

I haven't had the Bronco in for it's first oil change yet.

Yeeeouch.

So Ford has something called "The Works" package that is available at most dealers. Includes an oil change, tire rotation, multi-point inspection, etc. In the past you could typically get this done for $45 at most Ford dealers. Haven't seen that price in awhile to be honest... seems the standard price for The Works (in my area at least) is now around $80. And if you ask for full synthetic the price goes up to around $120 - $130.

But $429?! Wow

Dang the $429 is crazy. But the thing that keeps me from going to the dealership for an oil change is the time. How long do you usually have to wait? The last time I used the dealer was 2 hours.

Was about an hour for this last one. I for one don’t mind it, gives me a chance to wander the lot and look at what they have in stock. My previous vehicle was a KIA and their warranty has more holes in it than a pasta strainer so dealership oil changes were a sensible CYA.

Dealer came to my house. No tire rotation. Switched to full synthetic. It was $120. Here is pic from that visit 2/2022

Where do you folks live that you pay so much for an oil change. I pay, at a Ford dealer, $39 & change. I give them an oil filter, so it might be a couple bucks more if you use their filter. Rotate your own tires. Take about 30 minutes. If a dealer is charging $429 your are really getting lubed!!

Well if you do the math the oil they charge you for is probably at least $100 (6-7 quarts). Then the filter and the dreaded shop supplies.
That’s why I change my own with Ford spec oil for about $50

Smart man. Motorcraft oil is the most over charged over rated oil besides Amsoil.
I used that Pennzoil but it cost me a bit more. I’m in the 7 quart club…

Sir Toasty is the 2.3 7 quarts? After all this misinformation the last 2 years it appears the 2.7 (mine) is only 6 quarts as a final determination...

Why are we going to a Ford Dealership in the first place for oil changes? I just got my first oil change(synthetic), oil filter, 5 tire rotation and full vehicle inspection and NC safety annual inspection done for$87; with an appointment and was finished in 30 minutes. Local NC Tire Max up the street from my house. Would love to know how much that extended warranty and maintenance contract cost?
