So the Bronco gives us a handy screw mount, but all the dash cams I’ve seen are suction mount to the windshield. Has anyone used the dashboard mount for a dash cam? That's what I want to do but I can’t find one that looks like it would work

There are multiple threads on the BYOD rail and many options to mount it there

I’ve read a bunch of those threads, but every dash cam I see has a suction cup mount above the camera. That doesn’t work with the BYOD rail, since the mounting point for the rail is on the bottom.
Are you aware of one of those threads you mention that actually has a dash cam mounted from below? Because I haven’t been able to find one.

ok, sorry you are talking a true dashcam, I was thinking better with GoPro or similar. Crap, I did look at one awhile back for myself but then was just gonna wait for my Bronco and get a GoPro and run that and its multi-use then

I actually thought about rigging a bracket and mounting my Nexar dash cam upside down. I mean, if you need the video you can always edit it. But if there’s a solution that doesn’t require extra work I’m down with that.
And I don’t do anything exciting enough to need a GoPro. Haha.

I haven't looked for one, but read there is a picitiniy (sp), rail that will attach using the mount point. It gives more mounting points. I know JCR has a nice one. You have to take appart a good part of the dash to attach it.
