Super cool! Friend's happy with his Bronco's Mishimoto intercooler, says it knocked down his typical highway tranny temp to 'bout 170. That's some 15 - 20deg cooler than our OEM setup.
Cheers
Not really thinking a aftermarket intercooler is going to make the transmission run 15-20 degrees cooler. That would come from the deletion of the active shutter system if anything since they are designed to run closed going down the highway.
Then the other issue with removing them is a potential intercooler condensation problem that could possibly be exaggerated with a larger more efficient intercooler. I believe Ford had a lot of issues with the early EcoBoost engines until they installed the shutter system.
Kind of makes me question the benefits of any aftermarket intercooler upgrade.
