Cracks in MIC 2.0 Hardtop

I took my Bronco to a local dealership for a warranty claim on a broken rear seat belt. I also asked them to take pictures of the honey combing and new cracks that are starting to show on the passenger side below the rear glass. After waiting 5 days for an answer they finally called today to inform me that Ford wasn’t very helpful and denied a warranty claim. They did say they would ask a Manager to call Ford on Monday to see if they can do anything more. I’m truly disappointed by this decision by @Ford Motor Company to deny this claim. My Bronco was built on July 14th 2020 and then was parked on Dirt Mountain for 90 days waiting for the new and improved MIC 2.0 hardtop. See the pictures below of the cracks. I hope Ford will step up and address my concerns. Anyone else have any similar issues with cracks on hardtop ?

Is it because there is a 1yr warranty from the roof mfg and since its now over a year after it was built maybe they denied it internally. Otherwise there is no good reason why this claim should be denied IMO. If Ford deny the claim they at least need to provide good reason why it was denied.

Usually regional managers make the claim decision after seeing pics or seeing it in person. I had a front bumper claim on my 2019 4runner bc driver side corner was popping out (known issue on Limited models). The regional manager inspected it in person and denied the claim because of a scuff on the same side of the bumper that had zero to do with the claim. My neighbor is a Director at the dealership and Im friends with the GM who took care of it anyway in good faith. Sounds like your dealer might do same to help you out = good dealer.

No surprise here. Make sure you post the dealer info here and let the dealer know what is coming there way. The dealership won’t care but maybe you can help the next person know who to look out four.

Social media is your friend. I'd blast that out on Facebook at the very least.

That would mean the dealership and or Ford would have to have integrity. You see what’s missing ?

I’m curious, did the OP end up sending a PM to @Ford Motor Company? What was their response? Also curious, if your top was replaced while at the factory, did they replace the whole top or just certain panels?

Update. Ford has decided to replace my Hardtop. The top currently on my Bronco was is a MIC 2.0 but from the first batch. See the picture of the label attached to the inside of the hardtop with build information. The top was built in September and my Bronco was built in July so it definitely was parked on Dirt Mountain before having the original 1.0 version replaced. I’ve seen a few 2022 Hardtops and the color is a shade darker with a much better finish. I already let them know that if the rear section doesn’t match the front panels then those will be replaced as well. Thank you @Ford Motor Company for stepping up and standing behind your product. I never stopped loving my Bronco. Still my favorite new vehicle I’ve owned over the last 30 years.

You’re going to need to go to a different dealership or contact Ford directly. You have a 3 year bumper to bumper warranty. Unfortunately, many dealerships are terrible.

I’m happy to hear this. The first dealership should have handled it for you.

I copied this of the Bronco6G site. The Ford account who responded (below in bold) to the issue seemed genuinely concerned. If an official Ford representative doesn't see your post here and offer to help, maybe try posting or DM on Bronco6G site https://www.bronco6g.com/.

Hard to explain in the title but I noticed that my front driver Sas flare is loose despite the part that locks into the actual metal fender being rock solid.

It looks like the flare is two discrete pieces that are bonded or clipped together and that the exterior flare portion is separating from the mounting portion.

Anyone experience anything like this before? I checked the 3 other flares and they are solid.

Video of drivers and passengers side for comparison as well as one photo. No clips or tabs are broken off as far as I can tell.
Hi there. This concern doesn’t sound like something we want you to experience with your Bronco. Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? I'd be happy to look into how I can assist you on my end.
