Cool American Doritos

Found this on my trip to Belgium/Netherlands, but couldn't post them there because the forum blocks access to those countries.

Cool Ranch Doritos, but for whatever reason, they are called "Cool American" in other places. Then you add the Bronco on the packaging and it's official. Doritos has declared all Bronco owners, Cool Americans. Think I might look at retrofitting it into a bag or stupid stuffed thing to throw in the Bronco if it arrives ever.

Silly yes, but worth a chuckle or two I think.

that's some appealing advertising.

Somewhere we had a thread on Ford's marketing the Bronco in Europe. Although people complained about Ford distributing our truck there, when there's not enough to satisfy North American demand, I figure Ford would release a small number in Europe simply for brand prestige, and maybe sell a few to high-profile celebrities, shieks and Euro-oligarchs to drive on the Riviera.
A Bronco parked on a European showroom floor would bring in admirers, and expose people to Ford's other models. I get plenty of compliments on US city streets, but my internet Euro-contacts are utterly wowed by it.
Sticking the Bronco on a common consumer product is good branding, and consistent with my thesis.

I was surprised by the decent number of mid-size SUVs and trucks in Belgium / the Netherlands. All the other countries I have been to in Europe have had very few if any. I even saw a full-size hummer driving on a street in Lille, France. Barely made it through. Curious if there is a market for Broncos then, there is definitely an off-roading culture in at least those two countries. Had to snap a photo of this LR in Durbuy.

That’s cool (pardon the pun)! I think the translation for Ranch in the Netherlands loosely refers to cow shi#. It would be hard to sell a bag of chips called “Cool Cow Shi#”

Is that an old bag of Doritos? That is not advertising the Bronco as much as it is advertising the racing video game Forza Horizon 5, which used the Bronco as its hero image.

The game was released in 2021. Which is why it’s weird to see recent examples of advertising for it.
