25K miles - all kinds of stuff stuck in there. Couple of bugs, lots of leaves.

Did an oil change and tire rotation as well.

I changed my air filter around 3,000 miles. It could’ve gone a bit longer, but I had been driving on very dusty terrain and suspected it would be dirty. It was. They’re not kidding about changing the air filter based not only upon mileage, but also upon environmental conditions.

It was a simple enough operation. Four screws and done.

Now I want to change my cabin air filter, because what I breathe is as important as what my Bronco is breathing!

Used to change mine every 15,000 miles or so while living in Arizona.

When I moved to New England went to go replace the engine filter in my Focus at 15,000 and was shocked by how clean it was. Dust in the southwest is no joke apparently.

I got my usual winter maintenance prep coming soon (if it'll actually stop raining), Should have close to 35,000 miles on the Focus' air filter at that point, so we'll see how bad it is.

Thats good u got that many miles on a filter. IMO i changed air filter 2 times a year on a N/A engine and every quarter on turbo engine. Again, just my 2 c. 🐎

Check that cabin filter too. Mine was gross at 10k. Apparently my dealer didn't bother checking it during service.

35,000 miles is too long in my opinion, I've just been lazy since the Bronco arrived.

I think Ford's official maintenance schedule is 30,000 miles for the air filter on the Bronco. No idea what I'll do with the Bronco yet, but it won't be 30,000 miles.

In a pevious life I was a Polaris ATV mechanic (20 Years) and we always ran pre-filters on them to gain a little extra life due to the extreme dusty nature of our trails. I am doing the same on the Bronco with the stock filter. It works great and also helps keep water away from the paper element. This is an example of the sock I have. Just have to measure the filter and get one as close as possible. I don't remember what size I used sorry.
Just got back from SCW and cleaned out the airbox and blew out the pre-filter and can still see through the stock filter at 20K.

I have to figure out how to check the filter on the Glades last time I got the oil changed they couldn’t figure it out.so it hasn’t been checked in 15000 miles but I am hoping the snorkel is doing it’s job.

I found the parts diagram on the Everglades. It Shouldn’t be that difficult for them. I didn’t pull up the full breakdown of parts, but the diagram looks pretty straightforward.

I need to correct a mistake I made… i typed the above but meant to say “ i check” my air filter every quarter and change as needed. Brain, eyes , and fingers aren’t working together anymore. I should have proof read better but watching the Alabama/ Texas game and having a few adult beverages at the same time didn’t help. Didnt think about it yesterday even though I skimmed over it again. Oh well.. part of getting old. Just wanted to make a wrong, right.
