So back in the beginning of Sept a construction vehicle dropped about a 3/4 inch stone and it bounced up gouged the A-pillar then the windshield (see post HERE ) Safelite had a windshield in stock and was out in 4 days, but when they went to install they noticed they could not program the new WS (did not have right software) Rescheduled for week later, guy came out had everything set-up and noticed that the "mounting bracket" was broke (probably from taking in and out of van 4 times). Now they have none in stock, so its another 2 week wait. Today I had a 0800 appointment and I get a call that they broke the plastic mounting bracket again!!!!!!! So this is now day 38, 3 appointments, and 2 windshields and now I'm told another possible 2 weeks to they get another WS!!!!

***** UPDATE*****
Day 64 of the Safelight Saga;

On October 27th get call from safelight new windshield is in and for some reason it was sent to there Allentown, pa location (about 1hr 30min drive, Norristown location 20min from my work, Reading location 15min from my home) and they tell me I have to come on site for install!! Politely tell them to go pound sand, call the local SL location in Reading and start over. Windshield comes in 11/07 scheduled install for Sat 11/12 0800-1200, get a call around 1000 they got the wrong WS (bronco sport).... What the fucking, fuck I lost it on the poor girl on the phone and hung up, called back about 10min latter and apologized and explained the whole situation, she excepted and placed order for correct WS and have attentive install date of 11/23.

what could they possibly f*** up this time!!!!

Props to you for apologizing. I also have a cracked windshield with an appointment for next Tuesday. Hopefully, I don’t run into the same issues that you have had.

That blows. Sadly it's like this all over the place these days. Poor service, below average quality, careless employees, zero initiative etc.

When I broke my windshield shortly after delivery, it took me months to get a replacement. It was awful, I can definitely sympathize. I ended up putting a film onto mine because I just didn't want to deal with it again.

How is the film working out for you, is it the same one that's around $200 or so?

Yeah, the price was about that. I'm happy with it so far. Doesn't seem to scratch like I was afraid it might. I've had some hard rock hits that I thought would have broken the windshield, but it help up great.
