I finally got my Bronco this past week and wondered how people are handling car washing in cold weather states with soft tops? Hope to get hard top as they are readily available and wonder also if people are running them through car washes, self washing bags, etc with either roof? Thanks

I have a soft top, I had to take it for a wash after a couple of road trips. I took it to a self-wash and used low pressure rinse on the soft top, no brush or soap. I want to get the right soft top spray and soft top brush. I would not recommend a drive through for the soft top but am curious to see what others say. Thanks for posting and congrats on bringing your Bronco home!

Use Ragg Topp for your fabric soft top - it’s the best cleaner & conditioner.

I am a car wash freak - It’s like a religion for me. I bust out the power washer, fire up the foam cannon and go to town on my toys.

If I had our Bronco, I would use the foam cannon, perhaps agitate with a soft brush and then hose off. Leaf blower to dry everything.

My vehicles don’t go thru auto car washes. I have a couple car wash bays around me and a great indoor one. Keep the pressure washer nozzle away so it doesn’t tear up the soft top. Bring the leaf blower along too.

You're not supposed to run it through an auto car wash.

The South Dakota DOT puts alot of chemicals on the road that you do not want sitting on your Bronco or any other vehicle. We don't have indoor wash bays that I'm aware of for hand washing in the cold. I do have a touchless carwash just down the street that I plan on using just in winter. I really want to keep the Bronco as long as I can.

I use a touchless car wash all the time. I really dont see the difference between that and a power washer. I have a hose box tied to my irrigation next to my driveway. In the summer its very easy to hand wash. After my irrigation is shut down for the year its really difficult to get a hose to the driveway.

Can you please recommend a good foam cannon? I would like to look into that.

Why no mechanical tracks and only hand wash a SAS? I understand the soft top issue.

The larger 35's don't fit well in the wheel channels of some of the older/smaller car washes. I do not think there is a problem in the newer/modern washes. You can always ask your local car wash operator.

I purchased my cannon so long ago, I have no idea who makes it. Buy one with a wide base so you can put it down without it falling over and metal parts not cheap plastic crap. (Of course the soap/water reservoir will be plastic). Chemical Guys likely makes a good one.

The biggest issue with a foam cannon is to use a quality soap. My go to is Mr Pink from Chemical Guys - it produces lots of thick suds!
