Capable bumper question

So... Anyone who has read past posts of mine knows about my modular bumper escapades and how I bought one but kept it off the truck for a variety of reasons, the least of which was the damn weight added.

So I have been studying photos of the Ford Capable Bumper and noticed that the front D rings and covers look like they would fit the cheapo base (plastic) bumper assembly, which I placed back on my truck.

With this, does anyone know or have experience regarding the tow hook D rings for the capable bumper and the plastic cut out covers?

Do they mate up with the base bumper if you remove the stock cheapo base bumper covers and bolts and place the D rings in place with capable covers as well? I will post pics and you will see how similar. My idea is to get from someone or buy from Ford, just the D-Rings and D-Ring cover for the Capable and swap them onto the base plastic cheapo Which I prefer looks and weight wise.

I have asked this question several times on this site and the other and no one knows.

Of course, my idea is to have the best of both worlds, but I don't want to order the D rings and covers if they don't fitr or if they need to be modified and won't look correct or factory. My guess is that the D rings will def fit, b/c the lugs are standard for all bumpers, but I think the plastic covers may be a little too wide, top to bottom, plus the holes and push pins prob don't line up.

I know exactly what you're talking about but I would have to investigate how it mounts to the vehicle. Dark out right now, but I'll check tomorrow

Looking at your pics I would say it won’t. The DRing bumper pad looks taller than the pad on the stock bumper. The cut out drops on the fog light side and the other side but the stock bumper only is cut out on one side

Looks like the cutouts would be just right for the D rings and even the fog lights…

Thats what I am thinking. I have a modular bumper, but after realizing I will need to spend another 500 on bash plates and the fact that it has to be another 80-90 pounds (120 with once plates are added- if not more), I just couldn't put it on; so, if I could get the light weight of the factory plastic bumper (weighs nothing) with the tow hooks out front, I woulid be siting pretty.
