Can the Factory Cameras Used as Dash Cams to Record?

Funny story. I was cruising at 70mph today on the freeway in my Bronco that I have owned for all of 2weeks, I was in the middle of (3) lanes, passing the slower traffic on the right, while being passed by the faster traffic on my left (as it should be). All the sudden some dumb dumb, come off the on-ramp at a blazing 45mph, jumps across the #1 lane and cuts right in front of me. I got the ABS systems going and the blood pumping. Lucky no one was behind me, because I was on the binders, hard. This got me thinking about one of the features / capabilities that Teslas have. You can record using the forward, side and rear facing cameras just like a dash cam. They also offer sentry mode for when your car is parked. I believe if I actually rear ended the person who cut me off, I would have been found at fault with no evidence to show this person was driving in an unsafe manner.

Can the Bronco factory cameras be used in this same way that Tesla uses its cameras to record (basically 24/7)? Seems like it's not a far step from the trail mapping / recording feature (which I don't believe is available yet).

This would certainly be a feature that I'd be interested in. However, I do not think this could be something implemented by a firmware update as there would be a requirement for additional hardware (file storage, more RAM, etc).
