Can I put a 35 inch wheel set up on my Big Bend

Hello everyone. Have had my Big Bend Bronco (No Sasquatch Package) for a year and a half by now. Wanted to consider getting a 35 inch set up maybe with some offset on the rims to push them out a bit. Currently have the setup that came with the bronco so 33s. Wanted to make sure that putting 35s on won't seriously impede my ability to turn or trail in anyways. Don't want rubbing or anything of the such. I was also entertaining the idea of adding a lift to the bronco so if that helps before I get the wheels and tires, definitely want to know. Thank you to everybody.

Knows the cheat code.

It's been asked. But yes, if you remove the crash bars. The front bumper has to at least partially come off to get the front ones off. You Tube should have several vids showing how to do it.

@EZAPAR is correct, you can definitely do it after the crash bars have been removed.

No lift necessary, but if you ever buy disconnect-able stabilizer bar links in the future, you'll need need an extra 1-2" lift to clear everything fully.

And sounds like you're already planning on new wheels, but you'll need new (wider) wheels as well. You can find 35s that fit on the factory wheels, but it'll be the relatively uncommon "pizza cutter" sizes.

I definitely want to get new wheels too. Was thinking something with a 35 mm offset. But good to know i just need to remove the crashplates. What lift do you recommend. I do want to get a 1 or 2 inch lift but don't know if I want shocks yet. You recommend like lift plates.

I have 35x11.5R17's on my Badlands. The wheels are the stock 17x8 size. The crashbars were removed and lift was provided by Bilstein 6100's.

Front lift is about 2 1/2" and the rear lift is about 1".

I do have a winch and winch mount up front along with an ARB dual under the hood causing additional rake that needed to be compensated for up front. I still have about 1/2" of rake on the front.

Nice setup. Yeah maybe one day I get Bilsteins. But for now really just want to get like an inch or 2 via jumpers.

Jumper lift? Are you talking about spacer lifts / leveling kits?

Depends on budget.

Full coilovers like these guys are the best option for most people, but it's also more pricey than most lifts. A more budget-friendly option are just simple spacers or a leveling kit like those from Zone Off-road. Those get you the lift you want, but it doesn't actually improve the suspension in any way.

Bronco Nation has both of those options on their Gear store.

Worthwhile to keep in mind: If your lift is higher than 2" you will need new upper control arms, which can dramatically increase the price. That's why the 2" lift from Zone Off-road is around $100, but the 3" lift is over 6x the cost at $665.

Yeah leveling kits. Maybe I'm using the wrong word. But I've seen lift kits that are just like mounts.

Think 2 inch is more than enough for me right now. Maybe later on i can save for an entire Coilover set up.

My front came in at about 2 1/2" and while it was still within specs to align, it was pretty much at it's limit so I did end up adding UCA's for piece of mind..

Right now, and while they last, 4WP branded UCA's are dirt cheap for the Bronco as they discontinue them.

@FsuJon, if you have any plans on going 2 1/2" or higher in the future you might want to snag these while you can as it's a unbelievable price.. Once they are gone, they are gone..

4WP UCA - Amazon Link

Of course you can always buy a complete coilover kit that includes UCA's but that's gonna = $$$$$$$$$$

What tools did you need to install these. That's a great price not gonna lie.

Just basic hand/shop tools you probably have.

Here is a video showing how easy the UCA install is.. (not my video but you'll get the idea)

You will need an alignment after installing them..

Here they are installed on my Bronco

One more thing to add to the list @FsuJon.

If you do a lift you'll need (or at least should) get an alignment done. Not sure how tight of a budget you're working with, but that'll probably be another $100 - $200 or so.

I don't have much to add as the previous posters pretty much covered it all.

If you want to keep cost down, yes a puck lift is the cheapest route. Just installed a 2" level lift on my son's 2024 Big Bend. Took us about 4 hours to do, some of that time wasted due to our own fault. It can be done at home, but suggest you make it a (2) man job.

From there, alignment. That ran us $250 from a local 4x4 shop.

He also added KMC wheels (+18mm offset), and stuck with the Goodyear territory's ($100 less per tire than the other tires out there). That came out around $2800 with TPMS (Tire Rack).

Here's a pic of the truck, and (1) pic showing tire poke.

I did it with Everglades wheels but I got a lift and the front wheel crash bars (both front and back) needed to be removed. Ford won't remove the bars but its fairly easy, however you do need to factor in loosening the front bumper to get the front bar out.
