Bucking Bronco (2.3l/7sp lurching at low speed - very intermittent)

Has anyone else experienced this? I’ve had this happen a number of times, only when I’ve started driving and at low speeds, generally in 1st or 2nd gear. Happens maybe once out of every 20 times starting out.
The Bronco will buck or lurch, and then will recover and drive normally after I depress the clutch and take my foot off the accelerator. If I had to guess, I’d say it “feels” like a throttle position sensor issue. Some folks have commented about it on the “other” forum:
https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/2-3l-7mt-—-lurching-stuttering-in-low-gears-between-2-3k-rpm.32392/page-3

I’m not posting over there anymore, so i wanted to see if anyone here had this issue, and if it was confined the the manual transmission Broncos.

Interesting, in a bad way of course. Keep us posted on what comes about.
I ventured over there this weekend. Bigger site, and lots of great info, but there are some downright rude people mixed in. I got think skin, but some of the responses I saw would merit a "bite me" from me.

I’ve experienced similar, but even more rarely than your 5%. It seems to be more likely if I don’t let the engine warm up enough.
I like to at least wait until the revs drop. For about a minute after starting the engine runs at 1200, then it drops suddenly to 8-900. That’s my cue to start moving.

Happens every once in a blue moon. I just clutch out, slow down or stop, reengage and it's gone.

In my original incarnation there, I was OK’d to list my Arizona Bronco stickers for sale. Then, they decided that I was a “vendor,” and needed to pay some exorbitant fee to post there (I was never even going to cover my cost with the stickers, I just wanted to help defray my postage and printing costs). So, I created a “sock” account, in case I ever wanted to post, but I just try to stay away.
Also, I am the polar opposite of many posters over there politically (here too, I suppose), and I just don’t need the aggravation.

Every once in awhile I will have this happen when I’m in my automatic. Always close to when I started the car

It'd be nice if people could leave politics out of automotive forums, but that is probably a pipedream.
Back to the topic at hand...
I've had this happen once, maybe twice. The one time I really remember it happening was in the parking lot at my gym after a work out. I was turning right out of the parking lot, and I got the action you described. I believe I depressed the clutch, pulled the gear lever out of first, put it back into first, and then released the clutch and started going normally. Had a brief "WTF was that moment", but since it only happened the one time, I didn't think too much about it afterwards.
I'll pay attention to if it happens again.

We get around the politics by DMing here, and that blows that they wanted to be greedy and charge you for that crap.
We're a lot cooler, we just need more vendors commenting here as well, since 6g can't have all the fun

Happened to me the other day. Warmed engine up a few minutes. Outside temp around 65°F and when I was driving in second gear it violently bucked like it was going to stall or something but only lasted a few seconds. After that it drove perfect again. This was second time it happened in 5400 miles.

Yes, it happens when starting out cold when accelerating and going into second. It's almost as if the vehicle is not getting fuel or boost is doing something strange ~ vacuum created. But once the clutch is fully depressed, it settles and then it's normal and doesn not happen again.

It seems to happen for me always when departing from the golf course, and accelerating up to a 35 MPH street.

Mine would do this maybe once a month, once every two months. Once I installed the Ford Performance tune it has all but gone away, only once has it happened since the install and that was about a year ago.

How do you like the FP tune? Is it worth it ?

Absolutely, in my opinion. Definitely can tell a difference in power and really livens up the engine and the experience. The rev matching is nice too.

FP recommends premium fuel to get the most out of the tune. I "second" the FP tune on my 2.3L.
