It's almost time for our next BN Live which will take place on March 8th at 8pm ET! We are thrilled to announce our special guest for next week, Mike Levine! For those not familiar, Mike serves as the Ford North America Product Comms Director. We anticipate a very high volume of questions so will be collecting most of the questions ahead of time here in this forum thread and on social media. If you have a question, drop it below! If your question has already been asked in the thread, simply like it/heart it/whatever and that will serve as an "up-vote".

Friendly reminder: Please keep them appropriate and respectful. Mike does not control Bronco production so "where's my Bronco" is not productive nor can he answer that so it will not be asked :). Questions don't have to be related to Bronco either, let your imaginations run wild.

We are excited to have him and hope you are too!

That is cool! Ask him:
… if it will ever be possible to buy a Ford vehicle directly from Ford and not have to deal with a dealer. I mean seriously, my dealer did so little. By the time I got my Bronco, I knew so much more about the vehicle than any salesman!
… any plans for Ford to bring back any other vehicles (including sedans) with the retro look, like maybe the T-Bird (or Falcon, maybe the Pinto… 😂).

What teasers can Mike provide on designs for the next "special edition" (e.g., Heritage, Raptor, Heritage Limited, Everglades, etc)? I'm not asking that he give away the farm, but perhaps a teaser on the next exciting edition.

It would be Nice to get some "more granular" production numbers. Id like to know how many of each trim level has been made. Id really like it to be broken down to trim and color and MY. Be nice to know how many HOSS 3.0 Wildtraks are running around, and how many WT soft tops too. That might be a large ask But hey if you don't ask...

This is a question that is brought up constantly, and I also would like to very much know.
What is going on with the Ford Pass Performance App with off road trail mapping?
There are so many of us waiting and wondering when it will be released, it was supposed to be released at the end of 2021, then we read/heard that it will happen sometime in late 2022, now we are in 2023 and still nothing but Crickets........
I am as excited to get this app, as I was to get a Bronco.......
"Not Really" but it sure would be great to get out into the Great Outdoors and use this app to go with my Bronco into the Wilderness and go Sasquatch searching.......

Wouldn't let me thumbs up on earlier post. What models and upgrades allowed on March 27 order bank? What year for model ordered 23, 24? Dont necessarily want to ask this, but are they not going to honor the price if they cant build the car for that model year? Love the car. Dont want to be shafted again.

OOOooOOO...

  • What is Mike's job? Is it more of a marketing job, an operations job, an engineering job, or perhaps a mix?? Does he oversee the brand managers?
  • I've noticed Mike is one of the few public-facing Ford employees who regularly interact with customers on Twitter. Any regrets by taking that approach? Twitter can be an unforgiving and sometimes downright annoying place to be.
  • Who came up with the concept for the F-150 Raptor R announcement video/media materials? It was awesome.
  • At what point during the product lifecycle does Mike become aware of a new vehicle? From the very beginning? Or is his team brought in after development has began?

honestly - after dealing with my 2+ year wait for my Bronco - Mike Levine was one of my biggest disappointments in the entire process. "Communications Director"? I've had potatoes that communicate better than that dude. We were waiting month after month after month after month for ANY communication about the status of production, X plan pricing, options, etc and all we saw from him was Twitter posts of "This way to the weekend"... I have SO much resentment towards him and Farley, it's hard to express. My Bronco is my 9th Ford vehicle in almost 25 years, and unless something really unexpected happens - it will be my last. Mike Levine and Jim Farley absolutely RUINED the Ford brand in my eyes. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE my Bronco - you have all seen me posting here regularly, showing my adventures, mods, and fun I've had with it, but they (and specifically, in my eyes- Mike) RUINED what could have been an amazing and exciting experience, waiting for this vehicle. Those of us who stuck through and waited through the waiting process (I reserved 7/20/20) are the AMBASSADORS for the Bronco- we are the ones doing the 'free marketing' for them - talking incessantly to our friends and family about our excitement for this vehicle... and what did we get from Ford? SILENCE. ... from the COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR.

Am I bitter? Damn straight I am. Honestly, having him on is more of a slap in the face than anything. I had started to get past these feelings of resentment and borderline hatred towards him and Ford.. until I saw this post. If he is a "communications" professional, then apparently I'm qualified to be a F'ing astronaut.

Now I need to go double up on my blood pressure meds.

For reference, this is a letter I sent to Jim Farley in October 2020 on Twitter.. and you can only imagine how much more frustrated and angry I continued to get over the next 2 years.

Looking forward to this one!
The Long McArthur audience would like to ask these questions:
1. When will dealers see the order guide for the 24MY Ranger, when can we order them, and when will Raptor launch? (That might be more for me, lol)
2. When will we see the Off Road (Ford Performance) in FordPass, as promised by Ford at Bronco launch?
3. How Will the Thunder for the Maverick and Ranger be used?
4. When order banks open for Bronco will there be any trims not available, other than HE Limited and Raptor (unless there is dealer allocations)? Will HE and EG be available?
I'm sure I will come up with more tomorrow night.
Thanks

I’m right there with you. I’ve struggled to put together a response to him being invited onto Bronco Nation’s Livestream. All I want to do is yell.

Ford’s communication started out horrible and continues to gets worse. We still have to rely on forum members to untangle official Ford communications, like the $2500 offer. Or price protection. Or COVP procedures.

If he is a communications director, what does he direct? Where can I see examples of his leadership? What has he improved?

I highly doubt that Bronco Nation will ask Mike the hard questions about Ford’s abysmal communication, and Mike’s accountability for that. So I’m skipping this livestream.

The onX Offroad app is awesome for offroading. I agree that the Ford Pass Perfomance app would have been great but it will have to compete with this app that may have a leg up. And, if you want it so it will work with your navigation, well the only consolation is that it does work with Car Play on the big screen.

2. Will Ford make a move to distance if not end a business relationship with Chinese companies and/or entities?

I have heard that it is a very nice app to use, “however” I have found Gaia is also a very nice app and for what I use it for it has no charge, and I can still record tracks and add waypoints to the map and name them without costing me a penny and it too shows up on the infotainment screen through apple car play.
When I did a Bronco Meet up with about 9 other Bronco owners I found that about half use the OnX Off-road and the other half use Gaia GPS Trail maps, they are both good trail map apps, I guess to each of their own in what you like, because they are both pretty comparable.
I just would really like to know is if this Ford Pass Performance is even ever coming out or not, it would be nice to have it come out and give it a try!
Thanks for the Info @Big Papa

"A slap in the face" is bit unnecessary and over-dramatic. Having him on is a way for YOU to directly communicate with him LIVE, you know that we ask questions from the audience in real time. Do you really think we're not aware of the short comings of the Bronco comms? Do you think we haven't also received significant blowback from the community confusing us with Ford throughout this whole process? You think Mike sat there and intentionally said "don't communicate with any Bronco people, let's do a really really bad job of this?".

If this is so bad to have him on, who do you suggest we have on that could satiate the need for a response to your letter about how mad you are that X-plan isn't available?
