Just announced this morning! Ford will be bringing the Free Wheeling look to Bronco, but as an appearance package for Big Bend only, versus a full trim like Sport's.

READ THE ARTICLE

You can get the package on both Sasquatch-equipped and non-Sasquatch orders. It comes with an Iconic Silver grille, red "Bronco" letters (seen better in the pic below -- I like that they are subtle), and MGV/fabric seats with stripes. Pricing has not yet been announced, but look for package 51F (unless that changes before the official order guide comes out) at your dealer if you are interested!

I'm just curious, who at Ford thinks people want 25 different colors on their Bronco? Stripes down the side (multi-color), silver grill, gray hard top, red handles (don't get me wrong, I love red). But seriously, Ford and some of their stupid money grabs are getting annoying. Let me guess, this is a $5200 add or something crazy?

I think we'll find out soon.
I'm simple and like my (already-outstanding in shape) vehicles to blend in with color, but we know some people prefer to stand out in color, too. The packages are probably a nice way to offer options for that without Ford having to commit to a paint color the white-gray (me)-black crowd wouldn't buy.

Outstanding!

Obviously a thoughtful throwback is lost on those not familiar with the brand.
The Freewheeling graphics are iconic.

Best part is they break with the fifty shades of grey nonsense.

Just because something is 'iconic' does not mean everyone will like it nor does them not liking the color combo mean they are unfamiliar with the brand..

I personally think the color combo is fugly but I loved the 1st gen design and looks. I wanted to get a 1st gen badly back in the early-mid 80's but the used ones were very expensive compared to a CJ so I bought a CJ instead..

I like that this package somewhat blends the '78 Free Wheeling stripe with the '79 Chromatic stripe size.

There was some fun stuff going on in the 70s/80s. This package has some similarities with the Jeep Honcho, as well.

I would take EITHER of those Bronco's right there. How about Ford stops doing stripes, heritage B-Sports, this trim, that trim and just gives US a V8!! Now that would be paying homage to the Bronco of old! Then we'd have something to talk about.

This forum thrives on the idea that everyone has to like something or it's no good. Every bronco has to be a 6, fifty shades of grey moredoor. Not surprising in this world of homogeneous gender and anti individuality.

Ford is appealing to a few thousand that like this, so what, if you don't like it don't buy it.

You can't have a V8 , 100 % don't want it.100% don't like cactus grey or area 51 so they should be dropped?

Ford's breaking the cookie cutter mold, I for one find it hopeful.

I have absolutely zero issue with anyone who digs it, buys it, and rocks it.. I personally think the color combo is fugly but that's just my opinion..

I disagree on the forum thriving on everyone having to like something.. There are numerous different Bronco builds here and I enjoy seeing all of them even if some mods or changes are not for me..

It's not about if I would buy it or not. This is a Bronco forum that's ment to spur discussions - good and bad.. One persons trash is another person gold. It's what makes the world interesting.

I enjoy these discussions even if it's something that's not for me..

I actually saw a Honcho, in person, once.. Was at a Jeep car show in the early 90's I think.

They are rare, very rare. I think only like 1500 were ever made..

I also saw one for sale, on Autotrader or somewhere like that, a few years ago for something like $150,000.. 😲

I think, if I optioned this, I would do the MIC top to match the fender flares/bumper. I'll always love the Badlands for me, however.

We haven't seen the rest of 25 news yet, collectively. Maybe a V8 is coming? šŸ˜›

Depending on how many of these they make, it could land a small fortune down the road if kept in pristine condition..

If production numbers are small and someone has the cash laying around doing nothing then they could snag one, keep it mint and their grandkids could sell it 30-40 years from now for a small fortune..

My son recently tried to win a US Marshal auction for a seized 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle SS. His high bid was $30K but it ended up selling at the auction for $41K

https://appletowing.hibid.com/lot/213094073/1972-chevrolet-chevelle-ss--fl-?ref=catalog

Rare models with low production #'s can be a gold mine..

Do we know how many of these Ford plans to produce / sell?

Yeah, I like it.

If it was between this Free Wheeling package or the Heritage trim, I am absolutely picking Free Wheeling over Heritage.

Of course we can't because FORD and the government say we can't. But no need to come up in here talking about how Ford is paying homage to the OLD Bronco and then say well, only in what Ford wants to offer, you can't have this or you can't have that.

These are people's opinions, we all have them, so get used to it.
