Question for those that have a Bronco.

What is your normal operating temperature? My Bronco has 350 miles on it and I feel it runs hot. I want to see what the average is because I feel 225 is above what I would consider normal and not into the boost.

Any insight would be greatful.

I just added oil temp to MyView and will see what it gets up to after I do some driving. I just started it after sitting for 20 minutes and it shows 189. It’s currently 14 outside where I’m at in Ohio.

That seems high based on my experience, but I have the 2.3. Think my top temp that I noticed (I do like the boost, oil temp, voltage gauge) is around 205. That was pulling 70mph uphill at 6000’. My morning commute , 20 minutes at 25deg ambient, I get to around 180deg.

Just drove for 20 minutes and temp never got above 185.

I think you quoted me by mistake and meant @DRWright.

That's what I was thinking was under 200 would be considered normal. I'm going to take it in and see if something isn't reading properly.

That or your shutters aren’t opening up to let air in.

Another note is a fair amount of folks are noticing their truck is delivered with low coolant levels or air in the coolant system. You might check that.

The shutters are open and ambient has been around 50-70 so those probably wouldn't operate anyways.

Yes, thank you Bonnie6G - I was going to say the same thing. I worked at the assembly plant for the Navistar (International Trucks) several yrs ago. We also built the 7.3 powerstroke for Ford.
Two of the key things we would get dealer claim notices on during PDI were low coolant level/air in system and also the AC refrigerant being low. The dealer should be able to check the coolant level, and if needed, add more or "burp" the system to get the air out. You could do it yourself, but on a brand new vehicle under warranty, I would let the dealer check it out. Plus, bringing it to the dealer, they log and report all claims to Ford. This info is then fed back to the engineers and quality teams at the respective assembly plants. So by letting your dealer know, you are not only fixing the issue for yourself, but also giving the Ford guys a heads up to watch for this issue on future built Broncos.

Under further inspection my coolant is low. This was a dirt mountain bronco and was left to die up until I received it last week.

Thanks for the help as this somehow missed their inspection before delivery.

Thanks again guys!

How is the coolant level, is the oil milky white, do you get a wiff of coolant after driven up a long hill. Could maybe be leaking coolant internally to crank case.

The coolant was low and the oil looks good. The dipstick is showing towards the top of the twist. No leaks from what I can see. I'm thinking maybe it just wasn't filled enough from the factory?

Sounds like maybe running a little hotter than everyone else, would definitely get it checked and documented, never be too careful with your new Baby.
