Just a reminder. For anyone new or doesn’t know:

The Bronco bolts require Torx Plus bits🧰, not Torx. The Ford tool kit has minimal sizes with poor fitting tolerance’s.
You would be wise to invest in a small set. No one wants to damage their bolt heads.

Additional PSA: if you live in the salt belt or frequently find yourself on mud, consider pulling the Bronco bolts you plan on removing from time to time and see if they need a little TLC.

I did the bolts for the end caps on my mod bumper just the other day - and after about a year in muddy Michigan, found they were starting to get a little crusty. Hit them with a wire brush, applied some anti-seize, and called it a day.

I have every automotive tool known to mankind (well almost...). But I did not have a Torx-Plus socket set. I picked up a decent set a few months ago taking a recommendation from a post here on BN. A few weeks ago I had the Bronco over in my shop and decided to see just how big a difference the fit is between Torx and Torx-Plus. There is a big difference. You can use Torx and mostly get away with it, but once the fasteners get corroded a bit like @etmccaus discusses, the bolt heads will surely cam-out if you use just a Torx tool on them.

Excellent PSA BTW.
No salt tram towers were harmed in the making of this post...

I think the 12pc torx plus is enough.

Not sure if this is a stupid question, but looking at that link, one 12 piece set says "Torx Plus" and another 12 piece set says "TP Torx Plus"
I thought the TP was for Torx Plus, or am I missing something? They seem to have the same basic shape, but not sure if there is a difference that can't tell from amazon pics...

It does make me nervous only having the one that came in my glovebox!

On this, if you buy a used Bronco I'd confirm this is with it. I've seen alot of these Bronco tool sets on ebay that appear to be taken from Broncos.

The original branding is, I believe, WETT. Here it is on Amazon for $38.

I've seen it branded various ways with some vendors (on Amazon, even!) peddling it for just under a hundred. Probably more sizes than I'll ever use, but at that price, you can't go wrong.
