The Bronco Nation community has kicked off Bronco Basecamp for the second year at Overland Expo East. Many of our friends have made it in already, and more will be coming tomorrow. We'll be sharing builds and overlanding set ups, pictures from the trails, and what's going on at Basecamp. If you're here with us, add your pictures, and if you're online keeping up with the community, thanks for being a part of this thread too!
The expo starts tomorrow, so today was a day to roll in, get settled, and for those in early enough, go out on a trail with BN. We're so glad to have Off-Roadeo trail experts Blake (@TorgSurv) and Mike Clouds with us, in from Moab and Texas. They did heavy research on potential trails to cover in the area, and then pre-ran options to find the best: Ones that have you enjoying the capability of your Bronco and growing your skills.
Today, we left for Enchanted Creek at noon. The trail is a seasonal forest route, with rocks, mud, and stream crossings. Blake and Mike picked a fun drive, and while they led, members got on the radio and topped off their Off-Roadeo learnings with Q&As on vehicle tech with the guides. I love hearing the trail guides explain reasoning and features; they have a talent of being clear and helpful.
After we got back from the drive, it was nearly time to do our welcome party and get to know each other -- many there so far today have been to multiple events, and plenty have been putting the miles in on recent trips, including @TK1215. Tim, you gifting a Drummond Island pudding stone to little Clara for her rock collection was what started off my difficulty in keeping it together. This community is so giving, and seeing the bond we have when we're together is awe-striking. Anyone who has not been to a Basecamp or meetup, I can't encourage you enough to accept our invitation to join. Everyone fits right in, and I have dozens of core memories from being with a group of simply amazing people. It's my hope everyone in Bronco Nation can have that, too.
Tomorrow, the expo opens for classes and browsing, and we are running Bald Mountain, a moderate and difficult trail, depending on the bypasses taken. I'm excited to see owners tackle the tough stuff!
We also will have a livestream from Basecamp, so watch for your friends at 7PM ET!
