I spent a couple of weekends in the UP(upper peninsula, Michigan) the last few weeks. I have Verizon for a cell phone carrier. Verizon has little to no coverage for most of the UP.

AT&T has the best coverage in the UP. Anyone using their bronco and AT&T for a hotspot? Does it require a contract? I would only like to pay for it if I am going to the UP. What’s the cost per month?

I have AT&T, glad to hear I’ll have service. I do not have a hotspot for the Bronco though and I have not tried to use my phone as a hotspot in the Bronco. I can test that at some point. If I remember correctly, Verizon doesn’t have great coverage in the UP.

Yes, $20 a month not bad. However, I already have a hotspot with my cell phone and carrier. When I first got my Bronco I activated the 90 day trial and I did not use it once so it auto cancelled.

Good info. Totally forget about the ability of cell coverage in the bronco and my f150, and literally am having issues with Verizon this last week to where I am looking for alternatives. This might meet that need as I am limited on home internets.
$20/mth not bad for a redundant ability.

I've had nothing but good luck with T-Mobile. Some in my family have both Att and Verizon. Both complain about their cell service 🤷🏻‍♂️

You can elect an annual program for $200 which works out to approx $16.66/month.

Can you just activate it for one month for traveling?

That’s the answer I’m looking for. I don’t want to get into a contract.

I don’t believe there is an advertised “1 month only” plan but there is no contract so theoretically you could sign up for the monthly and then just cancel.

No contract. You can sign up and then drop coverage any time. I tested it out as well but I have att already and it’s 5g. The built in hotspot is 4g. I picked up a weBoost signal boost setup to use as we travel out west to Yellowstone. It’s the overland edition which has been looking pretty good in reviews. This along with att for a carrier should get me much better coverage as we hit Drummond island in the UP later this fall as well.
