This is something I haven't seen anybody talk about.

My driveway is slanted. When I come home, it wants to shut off. (stupid auto start stop) But not always right away. A few times when I went to pull the ebrake, it got pissed off and blinked an error message at me. But it went away the next times I got in and started it up. This time. no. It won't disengage the ebrake and is stuck in my driveway. Waiting for service from the dealer to call me.

Any ideas how to get it to release? I tried unplugging the battery for a half an hour, nope.

I had this problem oddly enough in a Toyota Rav4; bear with me.
I was replacing the engine air filter, and to do so, I had to disconnect the airflow sensor in the duct. When I put everything back together I forgot to reconnect the sensor and upon starting, the Rav immediately threw up check engine codes and disabled a TON of stuff, including the electronic parking brake, radar cruise control, cross traffic alerts, and some other things.
I suspect Ford probably does similar; so the moral of the story is, if the computer detects there's a problem with one component, it has the discretion to disable a whole bunch of other components, either for safety or to prevent damage. In my case, the parking brake couldn't be disengaged until the airflow sensor was plugged back in to prevent me from driving it and possibly damaging it. The parking brake error went away first start after reconnecting the disconnected component, but it took a few more ignition/drive cycles for the rest of the disabled features to re-enable.

I have found that when parking my Bronco on a gradient, all kinds of sensors go off.
I find it funny that a vehicle designed for off-road conditions goes haywire when parked on a gradient.
My driveway is also slanted and I would say over the 5 months I have owned it, the parking, hill descent and other various warnings will go off about 5% of the time I park in my driveay.
Cant explain it, but you are not alone.....

Hmmm. I am new to the Electric parking brake (I hate them by the way) but my 20 Equinox has it and after just over a year of ownership I accidentally found a feature it does. That stupid Pbrake button is kinda finicky you have to push it just the right amount of time with the right pressure. Short story long, I thought I pushed it correctly to disengage the brake but I did not when I put it in drive and gave it some gas it automatically disengaged. I have done this a few other times to make sure I wasn't imagining it. Maybe the bronco has the same thing?

When the Bronco’s parking brake is engaged, simply going into gear and pressing the gas will automatically disengage the brake (forward or reverse)

What bronco trim, engine and transmission do you have?

First. Fixing the auto start/stop was my first mod back in Sept '21. You can fix ASS either with FORskin or the auto stop eliminator for $100. I went with the eliminator so if I ever want to turn ASS back on all I have to do is press the button. Just take your time taking the A/C dash off and putting it back on...which is the hardest part of the install. Im convinced ASS is bad for a number of reasons but especially on turbo cars if a hot day and everything turns off/on/off/on without proper cool down.

As for your ebrake issue. Some have said they can't get their ebrake to disengage. It happened to me once but I didn't get any error messages. It just didn't do anything when pressing the lever and I was on level ground in my garage. Broncos wont budge with ebrake engaged. I sat there for 5 minutes cycling the engine over and over, gently pushing and pulling the lever etc. Nothing worked. I have a manual transmission and quickly realized sometimes I would not press brake pedal to release the ebrake. The ebrake will even auto disengage when you shift into gear, which I stopped doing after my issue happened 2 months ago. When my ebrake wouldn't disengage the only thing that helped was pressing the brake pedal while simultaneously pressing the ebrake lever, this simple fix did the trick! My ebrake turned off. Now I always press the brake pedal when turning my ebrake on or off. Been 2 months since then and no more ebrake issues.

For what its worth. If you park on an incline first press and hold the brake pedal, shift transmission into park if automatic or neutral if a manual, engage ebrake, then let foot off brake pedal. When departing an incline press and hold the brake pedal, release the ebrake, shift into gear, then let off brake pedal.

No, it wasn't going anywhere when I did either.

The dealership was at a loss, no answer other than "my master tech says have it towed here" (40 minutes away).
So I tried lifting the rear tires off the ground. The wheels would spin in gear, but sounded pissed.

Then, suddenly, the dash proclaimed that I should push the ebrake lever/handle/whatever to release the brake. Yeah, that fixed it.
I made a point of calling the dealership to let them know the "cure" should it happen to someone else.

Who knew?

Good deal. Based on our experience, if it happens again, just play around with it until damn thing turns off lol.

I'd also bypass the auto brake off feature (moving the bronco without turning the ebrake off). This should help keep it from sticking again.
