Bought a Modular bumper for my Base and it has no sensors, correct?

So, I got a Factory Ford Modular front bumper for $865.

It came with the plastic covers and the cast hooks, and shipping was included off of Sleabay.

I know... I am not too happy with the price, because it didn't come with the skid plate, and I know in a year or so they will be all over the place for 4 hundred bucks, but I have wanted one since I got the truck and it was an impulse buy (wife still don't know).

Anyway, I have a 2021, 2 door base, with the Squatch.... I want to verify (as I have seen none on my curent bumper)... there are no sensor holes on the base model, correct?

I ask because the bumper I ordered has no holes and I don't believe my base plastic bumper does either (unless they are under the plastic, which I don't think they are?).

Okay, all can pile on for how much I was overcharged! I deserve it!

You are correct, the Standard Equipment Package (which is the only package available on Base), has no sensors in the bumper.

Rear parking sensors are added with the Mid package, and the Front parking sensors are added with the High package.

Love this site!

Now, if you order the modular front bumper, is the rear steel as well or plastic and if plastic is it the same as the base plastic? I am going to make a new post to ask this question.

There are three front bumpers and two rear bumpers.

  • Front
    • Plastic Bumper
      • Standard on Base, Big Bend, Outer Banks, & Wildtrak
    • Powder-Coated Steel Bumper (aka: Capable Bumper)
      • Standard on Black Diamond & Badlands
      • Included with the HOSS 3.0 package on Wildtrak
    • Heavy-duty Modular Front Bumper
      • Optional upgrade on all trims
  • Rear
    • Plastic Bumper
      • Standard on Base, Big Bend, Outer Banks, & Wildtrak
    • Powder-Coated Steel Bumper
      • Standard on Black Diamond & Badlands.
So to answer your question, there is no matching rear bumper for the modular bumper.

Thanks,
Odd, it does show that one option for the higher trims is a steel rear bumper. Did anyone get pics of that?
Also, do the bash plated come with the Mod bump when you order, or is it an additional price? How I could have forgotten those options considering how many times I went on and tinkered with the ordering system for 6 months when all of this began 2 years ago!

ride high... So you got a base with a modular bumper package (I should have clicked that damn option!).

Two questions:

Does your mod bumper package also have steel skid plates (or plastic)?

Secondly is your rear bumper completely plastic or is it half plastic and half steel?

See I heard that some folks who have the mod bumper have plastic plates and I thought that if you ordered teh mod you got steel plates?

My build was base sasquatch 2.7L 4dr soft w/ aux & mod bump...
has front steel bash plate and no skid plates (as i remember)
rear bumper is plastic BUT do to the sasquatch pkg.there is a different backing plate of some sort. EXAMPLE: On sasquatch i do not drill holes to mount rear gatorback there is a plastic piece which was between flare and bumper having 3 predrilled holes held on by screws only have to assume into steel BASE NON SQUATCH when installing rear mudflaps center flap and drill holes in bumper.

Now from what i am understanding the squatch has the advanced four wheel drive and thats where the hidden goodies come in for sasquatch only.

sorry pork chop. For clarity I do not have a Mod bumper….yeat…but if you have a spare…
had I been clarer, I would have said I have an OBX with a standard (non mod) bumper but with SAS and the back plate is plastic meaning the SAS pkg on an OBX does not mean the bash plate is metal.
sorry for the confusion

Visually it looks basically identical to the plastic bumper. It's a powder-coated steel bumper with some plastic trim pieces on it.

Nope those are separate. Bash plates are standard on Black Diamond and Badlands. For the other trims it is either not available, or is a separate add-on.

We love no park sensors in front/rear on our aftermarket 4WP bumpers. No annoying beep. But its there (sensor/ports) if we ever change our minds

I like the MTA bumper alot. I have the complete plastic. While i like the look of the split metal, i do fear that any metal on bumpers enviably rots. it is not to say that the metal under my plastic bumper won't eventually rot from moisture. i have seen many Ford bumpers over the years that have rotted from the inside out.
