I've ordered my Black Diamond Bronco and I'm waiting on it. 2.3 Engine - 2 Door - Eruption Green - Mid Package - Tow Package - Roof Rails - and I got it for less than what you'd think. I plan to put 33-inch tires as well as look-alike bead capable wheels on it and do the tuner thing to it. Will the 33-inch tires force me to put a lift kit on it? If Broncos don't sit level, will I have to put a lift kit on it? I plan on running the 33s during winter and then changing back to original tires and wheels for spring. I'm using this vehicle for the looks not aggressive four wheeling. Thanks in advance, Geno.

I was hoping someone would chime in and let me know about the size of tire change and if I have to put a leveling kit on to run 285/70/17 tires. Thanks in advance, Geno.

I have a 2dr BD 2.7L with sasquatch package, no tow package, mid interior, no roof rails. I rolled just over 12k miles today as this is my daily driver. Couple of things: everyone I have talked to with the roof rails complain about a whistle from the roof. They may be a good thing for you if you are going to use them, but if they are just for looks, you might want to rethink. On to my other thing, I get 19.6 mpg driving like an a-hole in mixed Albuquerque traffic with my 35's. 5 new tires on 5 new rims will take up a lot of storage room in the garage. I would suggest that you put the 33's on and leave them on.
Yes, 33's will fit without issue on unmodified, non-squatch Bronco.

I'm planning on putting the 33's on as well. Still debating on whether to keep my steelies and do the 285/75/16's or step up to the tires you're going for with new 17" wheels. More expensive for the latter, and I think I like the fatter sidewall with the 16's. All that said, I don't think you need you need to do anything else with those modifications if you don't want to.
Congrats and good luck!

Many have upgraded to 285/70-17 and even 285/75-17 with no lift or need to remove the crash bars. Just when choosing a new wheel try to stay as close to the factory offset as possible.

I have a ‘22 BD 2.3 4D auto and put 33” General Grabbers on her. No lift needed but I went ahead and did a 1” front end level. Looks great and I LOVE my black steelies BTW. No desire to change them. I do need to figure out the MPG as I’m only getting 14.8 after 1600 miles of normal driving.

Thats what they all say, but she does have 270/300hp from a 2.3t, so unless shes locked in eco mode, there’ll always be that temptation

I have roof rails on my 2-door Big Bend, just rolled over 18,000 miles and have zero complaints about noise from the roof rack. I just got back from a trip back east, so this includes extended interstate driving at 70+ mph. My guess is everyone you've talked to has moved the front bar forward, or perhaps installed a light bar, if they're getting a whistle. As long as you keep the front cross bar behind the mid-point of the roof, there shouldn't be an issue with noise. And I don't care what folks say, the Bronco looks better with a roof rack. 😁

Other's have mentioned this, but to more directly answer @SmokeysBronco's question, no you don't need a lift kit for 33" tires.

And the Bronco isn't 100% level, but once you load up the rear of the vehicle with any amount of gear it levels out pretty quickly. I had a cooler in the back of my Bronco this past weekend and it looked level to me. It definitely isn't like many pickup trucks that have an obvious "nose-down" look to them, and I personally wouldn't buy a leveling kit unless you wanted that minor lift that most leveling kits usually provide.

Hehe... but @Speed Devil isn't wrong, the thing is surprisingly quick for a 4-cyl and the temptation is definitely there. 😁

In my 1000 miles of playing around with the MPG meter... pull up the boost gauge on the menu and just watch it. Minimize the use of boost and it maximizes fuel economy. It's almost like a game that keeps you entertained on long road trips while the rest of the family is asleep. "How can I pass this semi truck without using boost?"

The turbo is meant to be used, so if you play that game for too long it may actually reduce the overall lifespan of the turbo. But... ya know... driving can be boring sometimes and I have to entertain myself somehow.

With my alloy wheels option on my BD came the larger AT tires. The locking rear, bash plates, wash-out, and modular bumper add to a nice "stock" package.

Your order is very similar to mine that I picked up last week, except I got the manual transmission so couldn’t get the mid package. As others have said the 33’s should fit just fine without a lift. I plan on upgrading to 33’s when I wear the factory grabbers down. One thing to keep I’m mind with your original plan is you will have to get the speedometer adjusted every time you change the tire size, having separate summer and winter tires is fine if you plan on doing mostly city driving but I would keep them the same size. I’ve only got 400 miles on mine but have had no issues with any whistling from the roof rails even when I got it up to 90. The 2.3 moves a 2 door around way quicker than you expect it will, and even in eco mode you know when the turbo spools up. (Sport mode is really fun fyi) I personally like the stance it has from the factory, without a leveling kit.
Congrats on your order and plan on not wanting to get out of it once you pick it up lol.

And I'm tempted to FORScan delete my Eco and normal so I can default in Sport

That explains why my computer says 16.9mpg (:

And if the turbo goes, ya get a bigger, better one.

I'm still in the mindset where turbo 4bangers were Japanese and German tuners that would stomp the V8's of the day with some mods
