Don't mean to sound pleased, but this BIG recall & STOP Sales may tarnish the shine on Toyota's reliability. Details are limited, looks like crankcase debris is distroying bearings in '22/23 Tundra & Lexus - Over 100,000 of them are recalled..

It's kind of hard to fling mud at anybody right now when everybody has a litany of recalls and poor service. I usually feel vindicated with these things, except right now Ford has a crap load of issues too

Nah Americans have the memory of a Gold Fish. Plus most people will never hear of this.
But it is good to know that Toyota is not perfect.

Toyota hasn't disclosed their solution yet. Am very interested to see how they handle this potential, but uncertain total engine failure. Recently, Ford's answer for potential leaking fuel injectors was installing drain hose..

Many of us have known this for years, somehow it's kept quiet and they get a pass. In the 90s they had head gasket issues that would make Subaru proud but you never hear a peep.

Yup. Paid $2K for a GF to have head gaskets replaced on her mid-90's 4Runner. Common problem back in the day. Happened around the 180,000 mile mark.

I'd have to know the scenario to properly judge. All vehicles can end up like this depending on environment, age, care and storage. I'm not a fan of Toyota but I've also seen folks try to make Fords look bad without divulging all the actual facts. The internet kind of has the trust equity and integrity of a $3 bill printed by enron.

The modular motor Ford produced would digest itself. My late friend had a Panoz with a Cobra R in it, we were taking it out and replacing with a hemi because it had a broken rod. a common problem with them.

A 22 you say?! Crazy how it otherwise looks brand new, even the oil looks very clean. That'll ruin your day for sure.

That black donut looking part? That looks like some cast iron oil pump housing or something. Just a guess on my part.

The 4 cam 4.6 is a wonderful engine, that's a real shame. Not sure if they got the Teksid blocks or not, those hold obscene power. I would love to have a Esperante some day.
