Battery concerns with headlight issue

for any of you suffering from the “headlights coming on out of nowhere” issue. Ford is aware of this and redesigning a new logic board for the headlight switch, which is allegedly going to be available some time in October, HOWEVER now I’m concerned about a reduced battery life. Anyone else guessing if ford will replace the battery at the time of repair?

I'm sorry, what is the problem?

Some Broncos lights will randomly turn on during the night. To me sounds like an Over the Air Update that might be causing that possibly. I also wonder if these broncos have been locked prior to this happening. Or if these are garaged and the doors left unlocked. Locking the doors is part of the shutdown process

I wouldn't say that. If you have some aftermarket product they'll blame it on that. Inwould too.

Seems that if left in the default "Automatic" setting when parked, some will randomly turn on the lights for a short time...

Um, yeah. They're not gonna just give you a new battery because it may have been used a little more. If it actually fails during the warranty period, you might have a case, but otherwise, I bet it will be just like every other car battery I've ever had where it just self destructs at 5 years on the dot. It will die then.

My 2012 Sierra is still kicking on its factory battery. Exception that proves the rule I guess, my past experiences have been similar to yours. Minimum electronics draining it, onstar etc...

affected while the vehicle is ON. A new headlamp
switch is currently under development to correct this

drive the vehicle and schedule a follow-up
appointment in October 2022, when parts are
expected to become available. Follow up with the
customer to confirm the appointment once OASIS is
updated with the repair information.
