Area 51?

Kind of a subjective question, honestly. Most seem to be vocal about liking it, and I was considering it based on the pictures I saw of that color until I saw it in person (first on the sport, later on a full size).

Totally agree that color is subjective - I was hoping that it was going to be kinda techy looking but I've seen it a few times on other vehicles and..meh...

Very subjective for sure, I wasn't sure about area 51 from all the photos I had seen, however once I saw it in person I fell in love with it. I feel like it is a color that will stand the test of time.

Yeah, to parrot what some others have said. The color does change depending on the time of day/ it’s environment. Photographs and artificial light make it look more blue than in person.

Precisely why I chose A51, and my husband has a 2021 CG Ranger XLT with the blackout appearance package. Both are flat gloss colors that will be cheaper/easier to DIY touch-up when chips and scratches happen. Plus when they get dirty, they look even better IMO. Not like black or red that has to be washed constantly to look immaculate.

I see what you are saying about the color change based on sun/time of day...I'm going to wander down to the local dealer to see if they have a Sport in that color...(again)

When I was looking for certain colors, I went to the Ford website and you can do a search of dealer inventory of just the Sport.
Looks like the closest one to Ann Arbor is Atchinson Ford which may have 2 in A51. Blackwell Ford and Hines Park Ford also has some.
Both aren't too far away.

I have seen one at the dealer and also first hand at Off-Roadeo. I like it more and more every time I see one. Like all of the colors it really changes it’s hue from light to shade. My pick from day one!

You could always wrap it with a matte, paint protection to boot.

Area 51 is a cool color. I just got mine and everyone that sees it goes nuts. I think it looks better in person then the pictures

yeah I am partial to A51. It looks good with a bit of dirt too.
Although CG is a beautiful color as well especially with the black accents.

Ive seen it in the wild and it looks really nice. That said, I think its one of the most common colors produced so that kind of ruins it for me.

With things like colors, my rule is to never trust photos. You gotta go find a Ford Dealership and see it in person. I like the A51 and I think the general consensus is that it looks good... mullets are making a comeback so take everyone's opinion with a grain of salt because they're not all winners!

You really can't tell by description, photos, or even the paint sample cards. You've got to see this color in person to be able to make the call. I didn't see it till the Off-Roadeo, but then I was sold. Well, until I change the color of my order again. I've lost count how many times I've done that!
