Iphone connected, using the Waze app for navigation. Streaming XM radio.

When the Waze app makes an announcement ("vehicle on shoulder ahead", "police reported ahead", etc), the Bronco radio mutes the audio from the XM radio, which makes sense. BUT, instead of returning to streaming the audio from XM, it starts playing music that's on the iphone. I have to manually switch it back to XM. Every now and then, it just loses connection to the phone completely, even though Bluetooth is still enabled, AND the USB cable is still plugged in.

I experience this all the time. Having said that, I spend a lot of time in rental cars for my work and I’ve experienced the same thing in those as well, across different manufacturers, which tells me it’s an issue with Apple CarPlay, not the Bronco. It’s also frustrating.

As a side note; I can recreate it by saying “Hey, Siri. Call (whoever).” When the call is finished I’m not returned to XM, I’m dumped into the last playlist on my phone.

That sounds like a very annoying situation @EBG @ChetC - my iPhone behaves properly with Waze & XM (knocking on wood). I do sometimes need to reselect the audio source after a call.

Make sure your iOS is up to date and your Bronco’s software is current too - perhaps that solves the issue.

How fun! It has to be a problem with Apple CarPlay.
