anyone mount a rifle in a soft top?

4 door badlands with rag top. I'm trying to figure out a clever way to mount a rifle/shotgun in the passenger area so that it would be accessible from the driver's seat. I don't live in a city (who would want to do that?) so am not concerned about burglers cutting the top.
Someone here has done this and i would love to get ideas.

Here is my set up. I used the end of an old thick black sock to cover the muzzle. Very easy to reach, pull velcro and maneuver rifle. Probably going to add even darker tint to rear windows to conceal even more. Hard to see anyway unless you are just looking for it.

All three of these ideas are great! i only have one question.... how do you all keep your interiors so clean??

I came across this cadge tie from GOAT Fabrication on Bronco 6G. I would bet that you could work up a mounting solution using this.

The cage tie would be a simple fab to mount a rifle. thank you. It looks sturdy enough to mount a .50 cal on the top! Think the troopers would notice? They would want one for themselves.
The molle panels are great, too. I am definitely getting the overhead one; if not for a rifle mount, then certainly to put all my stuff up there. It has been frustrating to have no place to stow my hat except for the dashboard. problem solved.

Update....
JCR refused to sell me an overhead molle panel because I live in Alaska.
However, Rough Country will happily ship me one to my door, and it costs less.

I had one of these in my F150--forgot to grab it when I traded in the truck, so don't know if it would fit the Bronco console. They may be able to fabricate one though..it's made out of kydex.
