Android auto update and Waze

I got the update yesterday, so now my Android Auto has a full screen mode, which is cool. However, since then my Waze has been a little messed up.
I now am missing any street names, vehicle icon, descriptions, etc. All I get are lines for streets.
Sometimes the street names will come in as blocks instead of words, so they can't be read. It looks like a graphics issue. Oncei popped over to built in nav and then back and the street names were back in Waze. Anyone else see anything like this?

I have Android Auto, when on the map screen but it locks in place and cannot get it back to the home screen.

Hmmm, not good. I use Waze exclusively but haven't gotten the update yet. I had heard Apple Carplay was going to get the full screen but did not know Android Auto was going to be affected at all. Hopefully they get it figured out soon.

Yeah, it's weird. Sometimes it works just fine, but other times I just get the street lines, no names, etc.

Haven't needed it for directions yet so I'm not sure how that would be affected.

I tried removing the latest Android Auto, removing Waze, reinstalling Waze, and then let AA update itself when it wanted to.
Finally got it back last week and the same thing is happening. I can't be alone...

Mine is fine as long as I don't use full screen. Full screen shows the audio player on the right even though I have it turned off, so I don't get full screen anyway.

Update was a bust!
