I'll probably keep my fossil-fueled Bronco, but I welcome an electric variant to the market. That leaves that much more gas for me! (So unusual to make this all about me, isn't it?) LOL
Chris here. I drive a 2-door Velocity Blue 2023 Ford Bronco Badlands with Sasquatch, Lux, a 2.7L V6, and an automatic transmission. It’s fun.

More interested in a hybrid than an electric, but 2029 is a long ways off… so I guess we’ll see how the technology evolves.

Should be interesting to see how accurate these forecasting firms are.

Honestly, I geek out on the tech. If the automotive industry is indeed heading in this direction, does this portend the end of off-roading as we know it? The obvious concern for dye-in-the-wool wheelers is this: Will an electric powertrain compromise the Bronco's off-road capability? Could it enhance or improve it some way? (i.e. higher torque)

They are going to cut out a lot of people by only offering an ev bronco if that's the road they take. People love to upgrade and change their vehicle. I can't see that being an option going forward with an ev.

A 2.7L compromises it in their opinion lol. I was also reading this: The Forest Service Is Leaning into Electric Vehicles. They aren't adding infrastructure, but it's interesting.

Hopefully they’ll offer multiple options. Jeep already offer’s everything from electric to Hemi-powered ICEs. 2029 is a long way off. My Bronco will be paid off by then. LOL

If orders start in 2029, they could be in peoples driveways as soon as 2040!

Well, it may not be scarce, but it is finite. Nothing lasts. Oil wars will give way to battery wars, then solar wars before the robots take over and plug us into the Matrix as living batteries... 😆

I am super excited to see a EV Bronco! Hopefully ford improved their current EV architecture by 2029 but I think thatll be a game changer when it comes to power and torque. Being able to go off-road in Moab in complete silence would be super cool and then come back to the hotel and charge at night. Exciting.

I actually held off ordering my Bronco until Ford forced my hand, hoping a hybrid variant would come out….
