Accident? How long did it take to get it back?

Another car pulled out in front of me, couldn't stop. I've had it 4 weeks, waited 19 months.

So how long did it take to get yours back, what kind of damage did you have?

I am not the leader. I just like to go first.

Oh, that's extremely disappointing news; I'm truly sorry for your situation. I hope it's fixable and quickly too.
Bronco 202?

Gotta just go for it

Oh no! That's my biggest fear. I am so sorry. Hopefully the damage isn't too bad.

Timing will be very much dependent on part availability. A shop typically doesn't work on any one vehicle for more than ~4 hours a day, between body, mechanical, paint, etc. If you have an estimate, it should have the total number of hours of repair, say 27.3 hours. So, 27.3 / 4, or 7 days, with a weekend in there too. You'd be looking at roughly nine days, after parts are received.

When it comes to repair time, having a relationship with the shop means a lot. There will be shop manager that is making sure the technicians and the vehicles are in the bay, so you'll want to check every four days or so to see how it's going.

That pic doesn't show the damage very well, but I'm guessing it's not limited to the bumper end cap?

The couple of shops I've talked to (after trying to find ones that are reputable) both say they can't even look at it until the second week of February. . .

Tough to tell exactly how much damage. It does look like just the grill, bumper, and fender are damaged. The steering wheel and side airbags went off. That can't be cheap to fix. I'm pretty sure the casing for the steering wheel air bag did this to my wrists. I have a good bruise on my arm too.

I’m glad this didn’t happen while I was in the car! Not because I’m glad you were, but because I probably would’ve been compelled to hurt the guy who hit you. 😡

I have no information about this, but it has been sitting outside at our local body shop since December 16, I feel bad for whoever owns it, it still has a paper license plate on it.

So sorry about your Bronco! I can’t even imagine! This is also my biggest fear! I am so much more aware of my surroundings when I am in the Bronco. Speed on the highway slows down, flashers on instantly!!! Hope you get your horse back soon!

That is no fun. Hang in there. Service departments need to up their game. Quality of service, work ethic and wait times have fallen off a cliff the last 2yrs. Time to come back up to par

Ouch airbags are not cheap. Hopefully they can get you back to driving soon. My buddy had his out of commission for about 5 weeks. But he did not have airbags deploy.
I think these broncos are magnets for bad drivers, maybe they are too busy staring to pay attention to driving. We have had 4 fairly close calls.

If your airbags deployed it's going to be costly and take considerably longer, unfortunately.

If the side air bags deployed you'll have interior trim pieces that have to be replaced. As well, you'll need the air bags themselves. They'll be expensive, but that's on the insurance company, so it's not that big of a deal. The bigger issue is availability of parts. If parts are constrained for manufacture, they are constrained as replacement parts. If manufacture is at full-swing and the parts are going to build new vehicles, they won't be available for repair.

I worked as a claims adjuster and estimator for several years, writing close to ~750 estimates a year. New model vehicles are always tough because the parts aren't available and the technicians don't have experience specific to that vehicle (not that it's rocket surgery). I really hope your vehicle is repaired quickly, but that could reasonably be a four to six month repair, and if you're in a rental that is taken into consideration as part of the total cost of repair. I'm going to sound all doom and gloom now, but you could have, as an example, $17,500 in repair costs that take four to six months to complete.

$7,500 parts
$2,000 paint
$3,500 labor
$3,500 rental car
